If the Rv happens I also will do several venture business startups and seek to bring jobs and capital into my community. Jobs are scarce here and the needs are many. Numerous people looking for any kind of work just seeking to put food on the table and provide for their families.

The real answer for our country and economy longterm is not an RV but to change the way our country is run. As a matter of practice spending more than you can afford to is foolish and short sighted.

We need someone with guts in Washington who knows how living on a budget works and is willing to make and require the sacrifices necessary for the future of our country. We are on a fast track to the same destination as Greece, Spain, Italy, ect... (bankruptcy and poverty)

Who by the way have all lived beyond their means for years. Now they want to blame all their leaders but not make any sacrifices to straighten it out. Riots, violence, looting, ect. are common place. The masses have been trained to not understand the need for austerity measures to stay solvent and live within its means. Their perspective is simply that they are being denied the things they have become accustomed to being handed.

Our president and his wife talk a smooth talk but go on multimillion dollar vacations, live a privileged life, and somehow have the idea that we can borrow our way out of our problems. In what universe does that actually work in?

I do not seek to dishonor our president but to speak openly of his failed policies and philosophies is my responsibility as a citizen as stated so well in the quote above. I do not believe in hate mongering and name calling.

Our politicians are so afraid of making necessary budget cuts for fear of constituent disproval and loss of position that they want to kick the can down the road a bit further so someone else will have to take the heat for the sacrifices that must be made.

Washington has become increasingly more about political posturing and re-election than about public service and doing what is best for our country. Our founding fathers would cry "TREASON!" if they could see the state of affairs today.

Our Gov't has lost its way. forgotten its purpose, and grown in obesity and hunger for power. The whole reason we broke from England in the first place.

GP

BIG + for you there GP. As an additional observation: our politicians are waiting for something to happen overseas so that they can blame that event as the reason the US collapses instead of looking back at the entitlement mentality that is crushing this nation and having to take responsibility for their actions.

An excellent start to getting our government back on track is to term limit the congress. Serving in congress was never meant to be a lifelong position.

Agreed Mak63.

I believe another step that should be taken is to remove the silver lined medical package given to our congressman, the lifelong pension and benefits given to them, and make their pay and raises be approved by the American public instead of themselves.

They have become an elitist group that have voted themselves benefits, raises, and exemption from the requirements of the average citizen.

They have become 'little princes' and we have abdicated our personal sovereignty to willingly become 'serfs' locked in a federalist’s stockyard. We mill about like dumb beasts bumping into each other as they tax our life blood away and we hope, that somehow, our goodwill is noticed before we die…

OK - that's one thing I never understood...where are these life long pensions coming from? The public answer for their retirement funding is the same as mine - since I'm a federal employee.

U.S. Congress salaries and benefits have been the source of taxpayer unhappiness and myths over the years. Here are some facts for your consideration.

Rank-and-File Members:

The current salary (2011) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $174,000 per year.

•Members are free to turn down pay increase and some choose to do so.

•In a complex system of calculations, administered by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, congressional pay rates also affect the salaries for federal judges and other senior government executives.

•During the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin considered proposing that elected government officials not be paid for their service. Other Founding Fathers, however, decided otherwise.

•From 1789 to 1855, members of Congress received only a per diem (daily payment) of $6.00 while in session, except for a period from December 1815 to March 1817, when they received $1,500 a year. Members began receiving an annual salary in 1855, when they were paid $3,000 per year.

Congress: Leadership Members' Salary (2011)

Leaders of the House and Senate are paid a higher salary than rank-and-file members.

Senate Leadership

Majority Party Leader - $193,400

Minority Party Leader - $193,400

House Leadership

Speaker of the House - $223,500

Majority Leader - $193,400

Minority Leader - $193,400

A cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) increase takes effect annually unless Congress votes to not accept it.

You may have read that Members of Congress do not pay into Social Security. Well, that's a myth.

Prior to 1984, neither Members of Congress nor any other federal civil service employee paid Social Security taxes. Of course, they were also not eligible to receive Social Security benefits. Members of Congress and other federal employees were instead covered by a separate pension plan called the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS). The 1983 amendments to the Social Security Act required federal employees first hired after 1983 to participate in Social Security. These amendments also required all Members of Congress to participate in Social Security as of January 1, 1984, regardless of when they first entered Congress. Because the CSRS was not designed to coordinate with Social Security, Congress directed the development of a new retirement plan for federal workers. The result was the Federal Employees' Retirement System Act of 1986.

Members of Congress receive retirement and health benefits under the same plans available to other federal employees. They become vested after five years of full participation.

Members elected since 1984 are covered by the Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS). Those elected prior to 1984 were covered by the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS). In 1984 all members were given the option of remaining with CSRS or switching to FERS.

As it is for all other federal employees, congressional retirement is funded through taxes and the participants' contributions. Members of Congress under FERS contribute 1.3 percent of their salary into the FERS retirement plan and pay 6.2 percent of their salary in Social Security taxes.

http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/uscongress/a/congresspay.htm

Members of Congress are not eligible for a pension until they reach the age of 50, but only if they've completed 20 years of service. Members are eligible at any age after completing 25 years of service or after they reach the age of 62. Please also note that Members of Congress have to serve at least 5 years to even receive a pension.

The amount of a congressperson's pension depends on the years of service and the average of the highest 3 years of his or her salary. By law, the starting amount of a Member's retirement annuity may not exceed 80% of his or her final salary.

Sorry - just like trying to keep the facts as straight as possible....

You are into something BIG. Keep close to your source. The only thing wrong in your statement is RV. I have been reading comments on the board pertaining President Obama. I am not an Obama fan, however he is not the socialist people make him to be. He is into something so BIG, so BIG that he will be remembered for decades if not centuries. I know that because I am a part of it. America will have so much wealth that poverty in the world will be no more. President Obama does not even know why he was elected. For those of you who hate him so much, maybe it is for his politics, because because he is a democrat or other unknown reasons, you will soon be scratching your heads " How could I've been so wrong?"

The wealth of the world has already changed hands. Sometime soon, some of you will shocked when you realize who the new OWNERS are. Be easy on the HATE.

God bless.

Santonas Jehemev.

Please elaborate.......... thanks!

Keep dreaming. What makes you think most people will start businesses? If they have enough Dinar they won't even bat an eyelash about headaches like a business could and would bring. Another thing I hate about the supposedly

Christian people on this and every other forum. "Well I am going to tithe 20% to my Church," hell, most aren't true Christians and their only weekend warriors at best. And after these greedy people get their hands on all that money if there

really is an RV , they surly won't be thinking about Church.

I don't think Obama cares one iota about if Iraq RV's or not. He's a millionaire several times over, as are all of these crooked politicians. The only true straight shooter I see in the elections is Ron Paul. The man has integrity which the rest

lack. Romney with his mandatory health insurance and if you don't get it, we'll just fine you. Right.

Perry with his paying Illegals to go to college on Texan's buck. How's that frost your A@@? And Gingrich accepting money from Freddie Mac for advice. On taxpayers money. And Obama! Well I'm sure you can figure that one out.

As long as we let these crooks stay in Washington without being accountable for their actions we're all going to keep getting screwed. When your kids talk to you about Ron Paul listen to them. I think their more in the know

then most and it's really their future that should be thought of. Go RV.

You can only speak for yourself. You are apparently not a Christian since it would be almost impossible to be one with your rotten attitude toward others. How do you dare claim all those Christians are all lying??!! Is it because you would be lying if you said it? Are you merely judging everyone else based on yourself. You can't know what is in the heart of everyone else. The Bible says, "Judge not lest ye be judged." You are treading on the edge in your harsh judgements. You can't possibly know that all the people who plan to donate a portion of their money to the church are lying. Many good people will do this or will make other donations to organizations or groups where the money can be put to good use. It is a fact that Americans are the most giving people on Earth!! If you go back through your rant, you will see that you don't say a single kind word about anyone but Ron Paul. That's not only miserable and sad, it's also pathetic. I didn't intend to support Paul before I read your rant, but if I had been, I would probably have changed my mind after reading your post because I wouldn't vote for anyone who would attract a harsh, angry goofus such as you appear to be. I wish you well. I hope someday you get past your anger and mistrust and learn to love your fellowman again. I'm sorry you were so hurt, but you are dumping on many innocent people and including a lot of good people in your wide swath of accusations. As you go into your New Year, you need to re-think your ugly attitude. It can destroy not only your new year, but your very life. However, . . . my best wishes to you. I sense the pain that is causing you so much self-defensive anger, and I'm sad for any human soul who hurts. So for what it's worth, I'll sincerely pray for you. But I won't vote for Ron Paul based upon your recommendation.

I have a ?,if they wait until 2012 to RV and we do not pay taxes until april of 2013,can they fine us for being late

While there are a lot of intelligent folk here on DV, I would take the extra steps, and funds, to hire a CPA or tax attorney. That's just me. I just always end up hearing about steak and potato when in reality it was just a burger and fries.
