And for those all confused thinking a US citizen means the same as natural born citizen, the very clause in the constitution that requires you to be a natural born citizen SPECIFICALLY states BOTH types of citizens.

"No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

No person except a natural born Citizen, OR a Citizen of the United States.... Right there it clearly states TWO different types of citizens, where the second one just being a US citizen was the grandfather clause the founders had to use because none of them were natural born citizens and only US citizens, which why this was limited to only US citizens AT THE TIME OF THE ADOPTION of this constitution. Meaning that AT THE TIME the constitution was adopted, all those that were currently a US citizen could become President because none of the founders were natural born citizens. But after the adoption of the constitution anyone born after that date to become Presidents had to be natural born citizens. Which blows away the liberals lame theories that the US code pertaining to just US citizens has anything to do with natural born citizen. And it also blows away their excuse of trying to say there are only two types of citizens when the constitution itself clearly shows a natural born citizen and a US citizen are two different types of citizens. Otherwise they would have not had to specifically name both types.

Who is a natural-born citizen? Who, in other words, is a citizen at birth, such that that person can be a President someday?

The 14th Amendment defines citizenship this way: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." But even this does not get specific enough. As usual, the Constitution provides the framework for the law, but it is the law that fills in the gaps. The Constitution authorizes the Congress to do create clarifying legislation in Section 5 of the 14th Amendment; the Constitution, in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 4, also allows the Congress to create law regarding naturalization, which includes citizenship.

Currently, Title 8 of the U.S. Code fills in the gaps left by the Constitution. Section 1401 defines the following as people who are "citizens of the United States at birth:"

  • Anyone born inside the United States *
  • Any Indian or Eskimo born in the United States, provided being a citizen of the U.S. does not impair the person's status as a citizen of the tribe
  • Any one born outside the United States, both of whose parents are citizens of the U.S., as long as one parent has lived in the U.S.
  • Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year and the other parent is a U.S. national
  • Any one born in a U.S. possession, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year
  • Any one found in the U.S. under the age of five, whose parentage cannot be determined, as long as proof of non-citizenship is not provided by age 21
  • Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is an alien and as long as the other parent is a citizen of the U.S. who lived in the U.S. for at least five years (with military and diplomatic service included in this time)
  • A final, historical condition: a person born before 5/24/1934 of an alien father and a U.S. citizen mother who has lived in the U.S.

* There is an exception in the law — the person must be "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States. This would exempt the child of a diplomat, for example, from this provision.

Anyone falling into these categories is considered natural-born, and is eligible to run for President or Vice President. These provisions allow the children of military families to be considered natural-born, for example.

Wow, I guess you just proved our point about being a government troll apointed to this website. And especially the part about the mid year performance reviews coming up. It looks to have really lit a fire under you! As much as I do like to see hard working individuals going about their jobs, I will have to say your sheer determination in the face of certain defeat is inspiring to say the least. So inspiring that it makes me think of how much more than just determination those of us that have the truth should be.

Yeah, that all sounds nice but, determination by it's self if not enough for us. A love for our country and what it stands for. The constitution & belief in God that made it what it was before Obama came into office. Not only that, but for the men and women fighting on the front lines to protect our way of life. For our families and friends, and the memories of those already gone. Yes this is why we do what we do.

So I guess just having strong determination to please your boss is ok, but in the long run, it will not win against those that have more than just a will to please our bosses.

Just so there is no hard feelings, I want to say good luck on your mid year evaluation.... Looks like you may need it.

Your argument is beyond weak. It is completely fabricated. Someone takes a section of the US code then ADDS their own illusion in front of it and at the end of it making up his own version of what a natural born citizen is based on nothing but their own imagination.

The US code does NOT have anything to do with natural born citizen, nor does the 14th amendant. Natural born citizen is not mentioned anywhere in either of them. They deal with nothing but just citizenship which describes who can be just a US citizen under man made law. It has nothing to do with NATURAL LAW which is where natural born citizen comes under.

Um, ya THINK that might be WHY it specifically states at the time of the ADOPTION of this constitution? It doesn't say anyone here. It specifically says US Citizen. Are you now going to argue the founders didn't know what they were talking about?

At the ADOPTION of this constitution would make everyone here at that TIME a US citizen. So all those living here at that TIME were US citizens and anyone AFTER that time, meaning the ADOPTION of the constitution, had to be a natural born citizen to become POTUS.

The US code does NOT have anything to do with natural born citizen, nor does the 14th amendant. Natural born citizen is not mentioned anywhere in either of them. None of the above statements are written in any law. Those statements are written by someone's own person OPINION based on their personal misinterpretation of what the laws actualy state and pertain to. It has NOTHING to do with who is a natural born citizen and prior to this becoming an issue these statements were never there before. Whoever runs that privately owned website added this crap AFTER all the attention being raised on this subject. If had anything at all to do with who could be a natural born citizen it would have spefically included the words natural born citizen.

The laws written pertain to spefically what it says it does and nothing more, which just who can be a US citizen. A Us citizen is not the same as a natural born citizen. They are two complete different types of citizenship and even the very clause in the constitution requiring anyone to become President must be a natural born citizen specifically name both citizenships as being two different types of citizens. Otherwise there would not have been any need to name both.
