I have a serious question. What has he done, that no other presidents have done, that warrants impeachment or treason?

just another right wing dream.......what he should do is use the 14th amendment to solve the debt limit crisis and then let them argue over impeachment about the debt limit crisis.....it amazes me that GW(probably not totally him since his brain Cheney called most of the shots) lied about Iraq and made Colin Powell look like an idiot before the UN.... or do you republicans think that Gen. Powell mislead the UN on his own????????? Many democrats wanted to bring charges against the Bush administration over lying to congress but Obama wanted to move forward and not pursue the issue and not drag a president over the coals.......in hind sight I wish he would have gave the ok and let congress pursue hearing after hearing......it would have been a cake walk when they controlled both houses........

It's evident you take things at face value or Fox value! Both Obama and Bush share the 2008-2009 deficit cost; over 2 trillion dollars which includes the wars and bailouts. You probably don't know GW initiated the first bailout plans. Not true, your buddy last night on the podium indicated that bush was responsible for 7 increases and the debt ceiling has been raised numerous times, by numerous presidents since 1960. Bush was responsible for executive order 13303 which brings you here to this site. And at least GWB had a plan to repay if not position the US within the middle east as #1 for oil with Iraq. Dont believe me? look up the american embassy in Iraq, the largest embassy in the world housing 18,000 workers.

You probably don't realize Americans vote for certain bills and that bills come with cost. Bills created on Capitol Hill by Reps and Dems, Pres doesn't do it alone. Half Agreed. You missed the fact that if there is a majority in the house and or senate, that bills can be pushed through without opposing party agreement. Such as in this case with the passing of Obamacare. What I didnt realize like you said was that americans vote for certain bills. THat has never happened and never will.

Bet you blame him for NASA shutting down their flights also. Nope, and I dont care about any space race. That funding was shut down many years ago. And is why you see no research dollars going into the development of a new spacecraft. Private funding will take the burden of that. Commercialized. Actually was the smartest move NASA could make to reduce the amount of money spent per mission. I would give the govt kudos on this but NASA is a company and only funded by the govt. IT has a real business model unlike our govt

You surely think it's a snap of the finger to stop this down spiral economy. These fights are good for America at the same time shows it's weaknesses and faults.

Better management can reduce or even properly manage the pain so it is non existant. You are stuck in the 80s when interest rates were at 14%. That was painful. Even so, this is the wrong time to have a fight about the debt ceiling when d-day looms 5 days away. I can show you an article that Obama was threatening Rep not to call his bluff. He is loving every minute of this!

First thing the smarty Reps say is "how's that working for you". Quite childish huh! Can you find an article on this? I need facts like I provided you.

You should also read about the success of the bailouts and how much money has been RETURNED.

In the form of shovel ready jobs. yep you win.... whatever? you are delusional if you think that. Again, show me something of value that tells the world this information you have. Even Obama has conceded to shovel ready jobs. The truth is, alot of that money was used for pet projects in the democrat party. Pelosi and her emergency 26 billion she needed for the unions to operate. Nope, that money came right back to the democrat party in the form of donations for her party members campaigns.

I tell you this also, it wasn't as easy as he thought. President's power is still limited. He's not able to do it all at once - if at all.

Not true when you have majority of Sen and house. ANything is possible for the president. and this is why all REP supporters are appalled at what has transpired over the last 3yrs.

Really simple, google any hate you have and read the various opposite credible articles.

No hate mojack, just facts. I read all day on this news and look for the unbias in all of it, I need hope too. I have nothing but time for you and I am ready to research all that you would like to call me out on.

Iowa Rep. Steve King said Monday that President Obama could face impeachment if the country goes into default.

“Obama would be impeached if he blocked debt payments,” King, a Republican, wrote on Twitter.

King prefaced the comment by writing: “STOP talking about default. The 1st dime of each $1 of revenue services debt.”

His comments come as Obama is negotiating with Congress over a debt reduction package that includes raising the country’s debt limit by the August 2 deadline.

King ended the tweet with a reference to the Republican “Cut, Cap and Balance” plan he supports that passed in the House last week, but was killed in the Senate.

It would require spending cuts and caps along with a constitutional amendment for a balanced budget.

I thought for a long time that a balanced budget amendment makes all the sense in the world... until about ten minutes ago. That's when I heard Judge Andrew Napolitano say that a balanced budget amendment would open the door for Federal judges to determine the legitimacy of any proposed budget. I read a forum header here on DV where someone said something about throwing up in their shorts. I thought it was one of the stupidest things I'd ever read... until now. Now I know how that person must have been feeling. I just might throw up in my shorts now because of the ridiculous position America is in due to self serving politicians and unaware citizens. This is really, really sad, and stupid, and senseless, and needless, and foolish. God help us. Save us from ourselves. We have met the enemy and he is us...

obama is tring to this destory America ,people are waking up.Thank GOD for TEA PARTY. IMPEACHED THAT SON OF B.

I see that Hate Mongers are still alive and well.

Apparently you don't know that the Congress holds the purse strings and dictate how money is appropriated and spent, while the president can only approve or veto spending bills sent to him.

I think it is about time the people turn that attention toward both houses of Congress and tell them to do their job, and stop messing over the people, and get the job done.

kmseeker,

Thanks for the post!

I read that as of this year for every dollar the Federal Government spends 40 cents is borrowed... Think of that! Who could run their own budget like that?

and

(you have to read all the way to the last paragraph on this one to get to the conclusion).

Try a 100% is borrowed.

It is my understanding that impeachment is reserved for something that a particular person did themselves ... like your previous President who went a little far in the "I did not have sex with that woman." type of thing.

So tell me. When your current, duly elected President, entered upon the scene, was everything perfect? Were all the debts paid up and lots of money in the cookie jar, and prosperity and peace just oozing from the entire United States of America in every way measurable?

If it was, and things are screwed up now. perhaps Mr. Obama has a few answers to come up with. But if it wasn't, if he interited a mess, how can you impeach him for a can of worms he was handed and couldn't just dump out and start over. No President gets to start over on their watch ... they inherit the mess left from the last guy. And from what I understand it was some mess.

So don't be so darned quick to be such an anti-American just because it happens that the American Way has led to the American Dream becoming an American Nightmare. This has been on the way, in the making, building up, for a looooooooong time. And like it or not you are part of it too.

A proud Canadian, willing to see our faults, why aren't you willing to see yours?

Impeachment was and is a removal tool that was established as a way to deal with "high crimes and misdemeanors". A high crime is self-explainatory, but a misdemeanor is a little muddy in the eyes of the modern American. It is just that: a MIS-demeanor. Now, it doesn't mean a traffic ticket kind of misdemeanor. It means characterizing (or having a demeanor) of recklessness that is damaging to the Office of the Presidency. The founding fathers of this nation thought character was so important that the President and Congressional leaders should be held to the very highest moral standards. No one is perfect, but certain things are and should be impeachable. The problem is that our executive and legislative branches are like the foxes watching over the hen house.

President Obama did inherit a bit of a mess, no doubt. GW did some pretty stupid things and he was spending 1.6 billion dollars a day. But don't buy into the lie that O has not made (and is not making) things worse. Congress needs to de-regulate many of the restrictions placed on the business sector and let the economy and jobs market find its own natural bottom. Throwing money at it is not the answer. Some will win and some will lose. O is spending over 4 billion dollars a day and his Democratically controlled Senate has failed to develop a budget in over 800 days. It is a systemic problem in Washington and almost all bureaucrats are mad with power-lust. It isn't just O. It is the way the system has operated, so someone needs to stand up and take control or the America we have known WILL go down the tubes.
