Once upon a time in a land called Iquaq, there lived a man named Shadivi. This man was a wise and caring leader, but he had one flaw which we will later discover. Shadivi had a prized pet, a goose to be precise. Ten years ago, this goose was rumored to have a laid a golden egg. Unfortunately, its previous owner had died in a fall, thus this marvelous fowl was passed on to our hero. For ten years, Shadivi had provided the best of care for his pet and surrounded it with an environment conducive to egg-laying, but to no avail. One day, Shadivi was watching television and saw a land far away celebrating a national holiday. Their firework shows were magnificent and its people seemed to be the happiest on earth. Such entertainment and merrimaking were too much for Shadivi. He considered his ten years of labor with no results and made the rash decision to kill his goose and proclaim a feast. Instead of inviting his constituents, friends and family, he called strangers and foreigners to his table. While dining, the guests and Shadivi were witnesses of a miracle! The plate of roast goose, though partaken of generously, never emptied. In fact, each person present received 5.25 portions! As recipients of such generosity and fortune, you would think the honored guests would give some token of appreciation to their host. Unfortunately, they did not. Instead, they traveled on to Vitenom where they again gorged themselves. Everyone (except the goose) lived happily ever after. The End.

I appreciate your reminder that this is really not about us. It is about Iraq. It is about rebuilding a country that has been on its knees for far too long. It's about people who have never worked together truly in unison are beginning to do so for the good of all. It's about what happens to those who were mamed, or lost their entire families, or communities, or all of the services and production that needs to be reinstated and howwwww long will all of it take while those feasting on the goose flit to the next currency investment. Thank you for the reminder.

Namaste!
