TX_OILFIELD
There was more sabre rattling on the Iraqi political scene this week, as the Speaker of parliament, Osama al-Nujaifi, hinted at the possibility of a break-away Sunni state. His statements follow indications, finally, from Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to the effect that ministerial heads may metaphorically roll as a result of their poor performance. These stories, against a background of increasing violence, have perhaps distracted attention from the fact that the Development Fund for Iraq (DFI), which was set up after the 2003 war to handle oil and other revenues, reverts to Iraqi control from tomorrow, 30th June. The sums involved are immense, and it is essential that they are handled professionally. We can expect some clarification from the International Advisory and Monitoring Board (IAMB) on Thursday regarding the future management of the fund.http ://www.iraq-businessnews.com/2011/06/29/iraq-gets-control-of-its-development-fund-dfi/ link Please forgive me I am not a computer wiz.
wicked93gs
A breakaway Sunni state....now this is indeed interesting...now THAT is a currency I want in on from the beginning. After all, its not the Sunnis that hate Americans, that's all a Shiite obsession. That to me is pretty significant news, makes me go hmmm.
Happy Man
A Sunnite state in Iraq means a civil war and possibly a middle east war and the break up of Iraq in 3. If that happens, Dinar will be the least of our preoccupations
