CBI sells $796 million this week

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) dollar sales this week reached $796.113 million at a stable exchange rate of 1,170 Iraqi dinars per dollar.

“The demand hit $1,010 million in cash this week, covered at an exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars per dollar, and $795.103 million in foreign transfers outside the country, covered at an exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars per dollar,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

None of the banks that participated in this week’s session offered to sell dollars.

The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday.

I glanced at the total and it's correct ... rate correct ... the foreign transfers at $795.103 is the total less the $1.010M in cash (not $1,010M as printed) ... well, when we total the week's cash sales they are $3.01M according to the CBI Exchange rate pdf not $1.01M ... UNLESS someone is playing games with us.

Perhaps the article's writer can't do math ... perhaps the CBI webmaster hasn't had his coffee and misposted (several mornings in a row) ... perhaps the Chancellor Mohammed Salih is attempting to deceive us! ... LOTF ... sorry I just couldn't resist including him in a conspiracy theory ... and no, he isn't the chancellor ... and I can see that by the responses by other members that they are beginning to see that he must be the Minister of Disinformation ... good for you.

The answer is: I don't know what is up but something doesn't work mathematically. In the past it has taken days for the webmaster to correct his errors ... we will see ... don't look for a retraction from the article's author ... LOL

I'm looking for a transcript of Frank26's chat last night but haven't found it yet. If you didn't read his 12/14 lead up to the UNSC meeting you should do that ... great call. If you didn't read 12/15 commentary do that too ... it is full of things that will interest you. Usually my friends LGraham or RonScarpa post the K T F M posts.

Wow ... Woody/K98nights has really been busy today! Woody is THE monster news article poster on DV ... if you haven't thanked him recently make sure that you do so. Without him and folks like him DV wouldn't be the hub of info that it is. I just looked at his posts 10,260 with a reputation of 3101 ... I would applaud but he wouldn't hear me so (and I'm sure that those numbers are changing as I type) ... Thanks Woody!

Of, course there are others that are beginning to really fill out the news section as well ... my thanks to all of you as well.
