behaviorkat
Wounded warriors is a great organization also. There is no reason why, with the wealth we will have collectively, that we can not seriously impact the future of both of these organizations. Amen----------- nice post Eagleman! okane
Wounded warriors is a great organization also. There is no reason why, with the wealth we will have collectively, that we can not seriously impact the future of both of these organizations. You are correct! There are so many ways that we can make a difference in the lives of our vets and their families. The Home Makeover show has done makeovers for some injured vets that was wonderful. The Snow Ball Express was on our local news here in Nashville last week flying 75 kids to Texas for a get away. They interviewed a couple of brothers that had been with the program for a few years. It was very touching. Look into the groups that you want to support and make sure the folks are getting as much benefit from your dollars as possible. I don't have the link but see what the organizations administrative cost run, 50% ???? would be crazy. IF you can't find one that supports your cause at a reasonable overhead you could start your own foundation. Not as a tax vehicle but as a way to help more people in need. Bull Dog
Eagleman, thanks for the topic. Although not physically wounded, I as mentally wounded with PTSD and severe depression as of my tour in Iraq in 04. I retired in 07 be still carry scares and sleepless nights. There are many disables vet organizations out there that need help. I for one will help where I can not only financially but volunteering where needed. Seeing everything that has been said here brings tears to my eyes. I really appreciate it when someone thanks me for my service. Having been in the service during the Vietnam Era, what service men and women are seeing today is much different than then. It is much appreciated and not taken for granted. GOD Bless you all and I hope this RV when it happens blesses us all as we can bless others.
