Saudi report: Al-Sudani and Hussein's position on Riyadh does not appeal to some members of the coordination framework

Shafaq News/ The Saudi "Al-Arabiya" channel saw, on Saturday, that the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani and his Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein, affirmed the pivotal and main role of Riyadh, that it is a position that "does not please" some members of the coordination framework.

This came in a report published by the Saudi channel, titled, "Saudi Arabia and Iraq...understandings built through communicative diplomacy!", "How does Saudi Arabia build its relations with Iraq, and how can joint action be developed amid the security and political complexities in the region?"

The report began with an answer to the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shayaa al-Sudani, when he was asked by the editor-in-chief of the newspaper, "Al-Sharq al-Awsat", Ghassan Charbel: Can you, with Saudi Arabia, establish a regional axis that will be the basis for stability in the region and the world? The pivot to be a fulcrum in the region and the world, and we are serious about that.I had a conversation with His Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and I found him responsive as usual and advanced to achieve this goal with clarity and a serious desire. We set an agenda between us, during my participation in the Arab Summit - Chinese, for mutual visits.

The report indicated that the dialogue, published by Asharq Al-Awsat on February 9, focused on the relations between Riyadh and Baghdad, the importance of strengthening them, and transforming the understandings and agreements signed between the two countries into action projects on the ground. Rather, it is clear from his answer above, his government's desire to ally with Saudi Arabia, considering "the weight of Iraq and Saudi Arabia on the Islamic, Arab and economic levels, and the geography and the commonalities between us, which can easily form a political and economic axis centered in the region, and establish a stable regional system and be a pillar of pillars of stability in the world.

In its report, Al-Arabiya considered that Al-Sudani stems from the principle of cooperation and partnership between countries, by focusing on security, common interests, points of convergence, and elements of common strength between the two countries, and also because of his knowledge of the political and spiritual weight that Saudi Arabia represents in the Islamic world. At the political level, Saudi Arabia today has an important role,” citing the example of the “Arab-Chinese summit conference,” which, according to his opinion, was “a step in the right direction, and important to us as Arabs and the countries of the region.”

And he continued, saying, whoever reads the statements of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, finds them in harmony with what Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein made, during the press conference he held with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, when he said that “Saudi Arabia as a leading country in The Islamic framework plays an important role in this field.

The Al-Arabiya report saw that this emphasis on the pivotal and major role of Saudi Arabia for the Islamic world, on the part of the Iraqi prime minister and his foreign minister, is a position that some members of the "coordinating framework" do not like, which is the political alliance that supported Muhammad Shia al-Sudani to be prime minister, and includes a group of parties and personalities, most of them He has close links with the Iranian government and also with the "Quds Force" of the "Revolutionary Guard", but it seems that the Sudanese president has a more realistic vision than his partners in the "framework" and intends to implement it, and it is based on "reducing tensions and extinguishing crises in the region, Because we raise the slogan of development, and development needs stability," according to what was stated in the "Middle East" dialogue.

Prior to the dialogue with Asharq Al-Awsat, and in the weekly meeting of the Saudi Council of Ministers, which was held under the chairmanship of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Al-Arabiya channel says that the Council praised the “distinguished bilateral relations with the Republic of Iraq, reaffirming the Kingdom’s support system" rel="">support for the efforts made by the government.” The Iraqi government aims to achieve sustainability in the growth and prosperity of its country and its brotherly people," according to what was reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

He continued, saying that this Saudi positivity was followed by a visit by Hajj Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, accompanied by a specialized delegation, to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on February 9, during which he met with the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and a number of officials.

And she indicated that Al-Rabiah, during a press conference, welcomed "the arrival of 33,690 pilgrims from the sisterly Republic of Iraq, among the two million pilgrims the Kingdom is preparing to receive during the Hajj season for the current year." Al-Rabeeah also referred to "the development process taking place in the "Jdeidet Arar" port, which has received over the past months more than 300,000 pilgrims from the Republic of Iraq."

She stated that Minister Al-Rabiah's visit to Iraq came shortly after a visit by Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, who said in a press conference held on February 2, that "the Kingdom and Iraq are working closely to continue the momentum in bilateral relations, and to deepen coordination and cooperation in particular." On the economic and developmental side," expressing the willingness of Saudi companies to invest in Iraq in order to support system" rel="">support the Iraqi economy, according to news agencies.

The Al-Arabiya report pointed out that Bin Farhan, through his visit to the capital, Baghdad, and the talks he held with the President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Rashid, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, as well as his meeting with Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, through all these meetings, Saudi Arabia is consolidated. Its policy is committed to the stability of Iraq and the region, as it believes that any defect in Iraqi-Arab relations will have negative effects on the entire Arabian Gulf, and will push towards weakening the “central government” in Iraq, which means increasing the influence of armed militias, and turning the country into an arena for “terrorist” cells. which threaten the security of Saudi Arabia and Iraq together.

And she stressed that this relationship does not want Saudi Arabia to take over the Iraqi decision, but rather, that there be a strong independent government and the master of its decision, far from the influence of any external party.

She also mentioned that Riyadh, through the words of Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, stressed the pivotal role of Iraq in the region, saying, "Iraq plays a fundamental and important role in promoting stability, and we work together in close coordination to advance the stability process in the region through dialogue and by promoting common interests, and addressing Any differences," he said, adding, "Without stability, we will not be able to achieve the prosperity we seek."

At the end of its report, Al-Arabiya channel saw that "stability" is a first and main goal sought from the relations between the two important regional capitals, Riyadh and Baghdad, and this goal is being achieved through confidence-building and communicative diplomacy, because that is the least expensive and most durable way.
