Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in Baghdad met with commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, General Raymond Oderno who visited President Talabani on the occasion of ending his missions.

during the meeting President Talabani praised the role played by the U.S. Army and its soldiers both men and women in the liberation of Iraq, and participation of Iraqi forces in fighting the dark forces and terrorists, clearing vast areas of the country's from terrorism, and work on the rehabilitation of Iraqi forces trained and equipped and the transition to a new stage to be qualified and ready to take over its duties .

He also praised the distinguished role of General Oderno, in cooperation and coordination between U.S. and Iraqi forces in the military and logistics support , calling him friend and loyal that he will remain in the memory of our people, and wished him success in his future endeavors.

He emphasized that the Iraqi people owe the American army for his role in the liberation from dictatorship, adding that the Iraqis will never forget the sacrifices made by U.S. forces since 2003 for the freedom of Iraq, stressing that this was refuted rumors that oil was the main reason behind the advent of U.S. troops to Iraq because the reality has shown that the United States came to liberate the Iraqi people of the worst dictatorships of modern times.

For his part, Gen. Oderno, thanked to President Talabani, for his continuous support to him, especially in difficult times, adding: "Without this support it was impossible to accomplish our missions," and pivotal role of President Talabani in solving problems and unite the Iraqis and I place great confidence the people of Iraq.

And Gen. Oderno said that the tasks combat for U.S. forces in Iraq is nearing completion, and the task now is focused on the training and equipping Iraqi forces and provide advice, and that such tasks will be assigned to Iraqi forces, pointing out that the American forces achieved a lot through the formation of the army according to the Iraqi armed model modern and professional.

General Oderno, also said the action will focus on activating the agreements strategy between Iraq and the United States in the economic and cultural cooperation in the energy field as well, hoping to see a democratic Iraq a stable and united, adding that: "Iraq is a strong democratic will play an important role in stability and security in the region ".

The commander of U.S. forces in Iraq said that the United States will remain a friend and strategic ally of Iraq and Iraqis, and will continue to support its political process and democracy, pointing out that America will work to expand relations and cooperation in the frameworks of economic, diplomatic, cultural, commercial and other areas all.

At the conclusion of the meeting, General Oderno thanked President Talabani, for the warm reception and hospitality and wished him good health and success in order to continue to serve the Iraqi people.

It was nice he realizes the sacrifice our soldiers have made - especially with their lives and those forever scarred by serving the people of Iraq. Their service should never be forgotten by them, the American public, or the world. As I remember,there were many who said we were (and by some, still are) in Iraq for vengeful and selfish motives with the idea of a true democratic Iraq will never be realized. Funny... we don't hear much from them anymore.

Thank you President Talabani, for your thanks. I believe a few more should stand up and say the same thing!!!
