Iran has decided to grant a 5-day official holiday throughout the country, starting tomorrow, Monday, to control the spread of the Corona virus.
A spokesman for the National Committee to Combat Corona, Ali Reda Raisi, said: "It was decided to close all government institutions, banks and shops, and to prevent travel between all cities from 12 o'clock today, Sunday, until next Friday."
Most of the Iranian regions are in a state of extreme alert due to the outbreak of the mutated virus called Delta; At a time when hospitals and medical centers are witnessing an emergency situation due to the overcrowding of people infected with the virus.
Yesterday, Saturday, the Ministry of Health announced the death of 466 people affected by the virus during the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths to 97,208 cases.
During the past 24 hours, medical centers recorded 29,700 new infections, bringing the number of injured since the outbreak of the crisis to 4,389,000. 
The spokesperson for the National Anti-Corona Committee stressed the need for all citizens to adhere to health protocols, adding: During the upcoming holidays, only necessary professions, shops selling basic commodities and institutions that provide medical services will be allowed to practice their activities; While all religious ceremonies that are usually held on the occasion of Ashura commemoration were banned. 
The army and the Revolutionary Guard intervened to stand with the medical teams to support them in the face of the new wave currently facing Iran; Today, Saturday, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Combating Corona, as he promised to allocate the necessary funds to purchase 30 million vaccine doses.
