Indian geologists have found a massive amount of gold five times the gold reserves in the country. According to the India Times, two gold mines have been found containing more than 3,500 tons of gold within Sunbadra district, east of Uttar Pradesh state, with gold valued at about 12 trillion rupees (every 100 rupees is equivalent to $ 1.40). According to the World Gold Council, gold reserves in India are 626 tons. If these estimates are correct, India will be ranked second in terms of gold reserves in the world. The United States ranks first with 8133.5 tons, while currently Germany ranks second with 3366 tons of gold. It is noteworthy that the search for gold in Sunbadra began nearly two decades ago - in the period 1992-1993 by the Geological Survey of India, where the presence of gold in the region was announced for the first time in 2005.
