Amazing how racist the Republican Party has been all these years, and yet people in America still support the party. I guess the party's past transgressions don't matter to many.

The truly sad part of all of that, is that the Democratic Socialist today will never hear what he says at the end. They will literally believe the Republicans did everything. When nothing could be further from the truth.

I get asked quite often... Why are the democrats so blind to what is really happening in this country? How can they, with straight faces say the negative things they do, act as they do and ignore the positive that is happening? How can they continually blame others for the results of their own actions?

The answer is a simple psychological phenomenon called SCOTOMAS... Scotoma is german for “blind spot”.

We use Scotomas like SPAM FILTERS to block out the irrelevant so we can concentrate on our own agendas.

Our brain creates them and we usually don’t know where they are or that they even exist.

When we buy a new car, our mind opens up the scotoma that blocks out the visual of all of the cars on the road and VIOLA we see every car that is the same as the one we just bought. This is a safety mechanism that helps us stay SANE and not beat ourselves up and suffering “buyers remorse”. Because we see all of the other vehicles like ours, OR because ours was so expensive and we don’t see any others on the road, we’re strengthened in our decision that we made to buy, and buyers remorse is staved off, and ultimately we maintain our sanity.

Or like the scotomas that new mothers create. When their baby sleeps, they sleep. Traffic, trains and planes passing are totally blocked out, but if that baby should even stir,,, mom will hear it and wake up. Her scotomas block out all of the irrelevant noise and stimuli except for the sound of the baby. Therefore she is at peace and can sleep when the baby sleeps.

Likewise, we all have and build “Scotomas” (i.e., have selective hearing) to those ideas and concepts that threaten our mental stability. This is like Captain Kirk saying; “Shields Up”. 

The democrats are “shields up” to anything positive that the Republicans do (or anyone else for that matter). They act and publically show their feelings that if the idea wasn’t theirs, it is not good and therefore not supported. The face of the Democratic Party is myopic and selfish and they have become mentally incapable of allowing anyone outside of their small circle any glory. Consequently, they live behind their “shields” and refuse to assimilate any other relevant data in fear that it will harm their psyche. They have built scotomas to their own agenda (much like new mothers) and are therefore totally incapable of seeing anything, anything but their own agenda. They really don’t see the truth because they have mentally blinded themselves from it. These types of scotomas are built in the brain from pride, rage, hate and fury. They shun everything reasonable and positive that they have learned in their lifetime and turn a blind eye to history, all to justify their actions and remain, to themselves, sane. Perfectly described by Winston Churchill  “Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it.” (Which is a paraphrase of an earlier writer/philosopher George Santayana who said it this way; “Those who cannot remember the past [the democrats] are condemned to repeat it”)

So why is this insane behavior so evident to others and not to them....

The answer. Scotomas.

It means that if they watch the video and see it through to the ending... they won’t internalize the ending as that would jeopardize their psyche.

The only way they could change this is if someone that they have trust in helps them see their pride, rage and fury and they mentally opt to change it... at that point their scotomas would begin to open and they might see the world differently. However, this is not very likely as there are so many of them in their tight little circle, with the same blind spots, that they reinforce each other and that makes them strengthen their scotomas not open them.
