woookiee
Blocs extend Parliament’s session by 1 day July 25, 2010 - 10:56:00 BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi political blocs ended their meeting on Sunday by agreeing to extend the Parliament’s first session by one day, from tomorrow (Monday) to the day after tomorrow (Tuesday). “The Parliament’s first session has been open since it was held, and will be closed on Tuesday,” Lawmaker Saleem al-Jubori told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. He noted that on Tuesday, the Parliament will specify when to hold another session to select a permanent speakership. The two alliances of the Al-Iraqiya and the National Alliance had a meeting on Sunday to choose a temporary speaker to the Iraqi Parliament, provided that he should be either Christian or independent. “The meeting had occurred prior to political blocs’ meeting,” a source from the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. http://en.aswataliraq.info/?p=134865
