Now shipping international oil with it's own flagship oil tankers.

Iraq recently contracted SK to build more super oil tankers.

First Iraq-flagged oil tanker in 3 decades leaves port.

An Iraq-flagged tanker carrying two million barrels of crude oil has set sail for the US, the first such trip in nearly three decades, the oil ministry said Saturday, Daily Mail reported.

Iraq, which has been ravaged by a series of wars since the 1980s, is the oil cartel OPEC’s second biggest producer with 153 billion barrels of proven crude reserves.

“The Baghdad left Basra on Friday night headed for the United States. It is the first time since 1991 that Iraq is running its own oil tankers,” oil ministry spokesman Assem Jihad said.

Basra, in southern Iraq, is an oil-rich province.

The disruption of Iraqi seaports for many years at the ports has eroded them, and some of them have been turned into invalid scrap for re-entry.

 

Iraq is reviving its fleet of marine carriers, as well as developing oil sector infrastructure, in parallel with its work to increase crude production.

You wonder whether the Iraq dinar is complete, whether it is there, whether it has a rate there yet. Why would Iraq have 5 ships on the water full of Oil heading to the US unless they had a currency ready to utilize. They got that coming. It is on the way. I think two are arriving and 3 will be by Friday/Saturday. That is good to know.
