Wiljor
Iraq, October 8, 2017 The trade between Kurdistan Region and Iran, as well as tourism are ongoing with no suspensions, said a Kurdish official. Masoud Ahmed Bateli, Head of Hajiomaran International Gate Complex, one of the three main border crossings between the KRG and Iran, said the crossing is in its full normal operation. “Iranian goods are being imported to Kurdistan, and local products continue to be exported to Iran,” Bateli explained to BasNews, emphasising that tourism between the sides is also as usual. Following the September independence referendum in Kurdistan, the Iranian government threatened to halt all its trade and economic ties with Erbil. Although some measures taken, but the mutual trade is apparently being restored to normal operation. The Islamic Republic of Iran is concerned about the possible break up of Kurdistan in neighbouring Iraq in fear of the move triggering nationalist movements among the Kurds inside Iran. basnews http://iraqdailyjournal.com/story-z16008101
