On Wednesday, the Association of Iraqi Private Banks organized a workshop in cooperation with KMPG International on the safety requirements of financial transfer systems and was attended by 100 employees of Iraqi and foreign banks operating in Baghdad.

On the sidelines of the signing of the MoU, Mustansiriya University President Sadiq Al-Hamash said, "The memorandum comes at a very important time in our desire to keep abreast of the developments in the financial and banking sciences." Al-Hamash praised the projects established by the Association of Iraqi Private Banks to support the displaced people and the Al-Baghdad project, which aims to develop 20 squares in Baghdad. 

After the signing of the memorandum, a meeting was held between the delegation of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, which includes a number of consultants and technicians headed by Al-Hantal to explain the terms of the agreement with a delegation of professors of Al Mustansiriya University under the chairmanship of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs Fawzi Al-Hiti. 

"I have proposed to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to represent the banking sector in the college councils because it will reflect positively on the reality of education by keeping pace with the development in this vital sector," said Fawzi Al-Hiti, assistant to the university's president for scientific affairs. 

"The implementation of this agreement will make our students have a good opportunity in the labor market, especially in the banking sector."

The President of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, Wadih al-Hanchal, discussed with a delegation from the universities of Baghdad and Mustansiriya the scientific methods for qualifying university youth for the labor market.

"The agreement signed two days ago by the Association of Private Banks with the University of Mustansiriya aims to enhance the confidence and knowledge of Iraqi youth through the development of accounting materials to comply with international standards," Al-Hantal said during a meeting with the academic delegation that visited the headquarters of the Association of Private Banks in Baghdad.

He added that "the Association of Iraqi private banks has developed an integrated work program to develop the capacity of students of the faculties of management and economy through agreements with Iraqi universities, which includes the establishment of training courses for faculty members and change curricula in line with the modernity used in the financial sector and the optimal use of smart devices.

He pointed out that "these agreements aim to create a conscious generation of young people believe in work and correct the course of the Iraqi economy by cloning global experiences and their application in Iraq with the creation of experiences that keep pace with the nature of Iraqi society and preserve its identity."

For his part, the Executive Director of the Association of Private Banks Ali Tariq a small presentation showing the achievements of the Association of private banks during the past years.

"The Association of Private Banks is working hard with universities to develop human capabilities and instill a spirit of work and competition among young people to positively reflect on the country's economy," said Tariq.

On the other hand, the financial advisor Obaid Mahal, the need to be a master's and doctorate is an effective way to address the challenges faced by the country, indicating that the agreement signed with the University of Mustansiriya will develop the element of human capital.

He called on all parties concerned with economic affairs from civil society organizations and all ministries to use the universities to solve their problems, like the one that accompanied the first initiative.

On the other hand, the banking expert Abdulhussain Al-Mundhiri pointed to his practical experience after graduating from the Faculty of Management and Economics and how to develop his accounting capabilities. He called for the need to train college students in banking and financial institutions to prepare them for practical life.

In an intervention by Dr. Safwan Qusay from the University of Baghdad, he focused on the important aspects of the cooperation and partnership between the university and the Association and called for the need to benefit from the global experiences in this area through the business community to adopt certain specialties in the university and thus provide employment opportunities for them.
