The estimated cost of implementing the project within Jordanian territory by about 6 to $ 8 billion and implemented by the company "MAS"
 International.
The Iraqi government will bear the cost of the establishment of the line from Basra to Najaf, while the line will be completed from Najaf to the Jordanian border , where it will be built according to building and operating system B or T.
The project includes the inside Jordanian territory, extending a sub - tube length of 60 kilometers up to the oil refinery in the Jordanian city of Zarqa near Amman, to continue its extension then to export port in
 Aqaba.
Where it will carry more than two million barrels of oil a day, as the project will include a pipeline of natural gas supplied Jordan by about 100 million cubic feet per day, while the rest go quantities pumped through which to operate the pumping stations in the port of

Economy News _ Baghdad

The head of the Oil Directorate in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ashraf al-Rawashdeh, said on Sunday that the Iraqi side decided to cancel the gas line, which was supposed to be accompanied by the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline.

Al-Ghad newspaper quoted him as saying that the aim of the gas pipeline was to operate the pumping stations along the main pipeline, Jordan in any quantities are surplus from the need for pumping stations in the event that Jordan needs any quantities of this gas.

Al-Rawashdeh said that the project developer will look for an alternative to the operation of pumping stations instead of gas and commensurate with the economic feasibility of the project, noting that the ministry was informed of this decision in June.

Al-Rawashdeh said that the project development and management contract has been extended to 25 years instead of the previously planned 20 years before it was handed over to the Jordanian government, adding that this was also part of the process of improving the economics of the project to motivate the developer to speed it up.

An official Iraqi source told the newspaper that work was planned to be carried out within the Jordanian territory by the end of this year.

In April 2013, the two sides signed a framework agreement to build a pipeline to transport Iraqi crude oil from Basra to export ports at the port of Aqaba at a total cost of about $ 18 billion.
