BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: A delegation from al-Iraqiya bloc under, Rafie al-Issawi discussed with the political body of Iraqi Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr’s Movement recent developments regarding the government formation and means to accelerate efforts to bring the country out of its current logjam, according to a release by Issawi’s office on Thursday.

“Deputy Premier Issawi led a delegation from Iyad Allawi’s al-Iraqiya bloc that visited the headquarters of the Sadrists’ political body,” read the release as received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The two sides held a one-hour meeting to discuss the future of alliances and ways to overhaul the government platform in a bid to bring the nation out of its current crisis,” it added.

Issawi stressed al-Iraqiya’s endeavors to speed up formation of a government and work on activating article 72 of the Iraqi Constitution regarding the naming of a president within a period of one month after convening the first parliamentary session.

The delegation was received by the body chief, Karrar al-Khafaji, as well as Nassar al-Rubaie and Qusai al-Suhail.

Thanks for the post

Thanks ronscarpa, an interesting post! The absence of any sense of concord makes me wonder if the meeting was not exactly cordial or fruitful!

And if i am right in that, then it is probably not a good sign!

Thanks for your posts Guys...!
