Sadrist MP calls to close US Embassy in Iraq

Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Iqbal al-Ghurabi, of al-Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend called to close the US Embassy in Iraq due to its interference in the Iraqi internal affairs.

 

Earlier, the US Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Beecroft, stated "The USA to have a special stance with Iraq if Iraq's next Prime Minister rejects to deal with the USA."

 

In a press statement received by AIN, she said "Sadr Trend and al-Ahrar bloc rejects having the US Embassy in Iraq due to its interference in the Iraqi internal affairs."

 

"This is the request of the Iraqi people because it is clearly interferes in the Iraqi affairs," she added.

 

"Al-Ahrar bloc rejects any statements by the Iraqi political sides over keeping the US Embassy in Iraq," she concluded. /End/
