I have been thinking about America having drones. Am I the only one thinking about this?

Let me get to the point.

The drones will be armed with tear gas, rubber bullets, tasers, etc. Do we live in fear of the government? I have a 12 year old. We all know how young people get into situations. Lets say she gets mixed up with the wrong crowd and she does something that is not up to today's standards. She gets scared and runs. The drone chases her and she ends up tear gassed, shot with rubber bullets, tased, etc. and she dies from the injuries.

How do we find out who was flying the remote controlled drone so we would be able to take them to court to find justice for her?

What if it was your child, wife, husband, brother, sister, mother, father, etc?

P.S.

The only reason we have drones is because of terrorism. If it were me, I believe that I would rather be killed by a terrorist than shot by the American government with a button. Please feel free to give me your feedback.

Thank you,

So i guess the guy flying the drone is the judge, jury, and executioner.

yeah I guess ......not much difference between that and a trigger happy cop eh

to be honest your country has brought it upon itself .... you all bang on about the 2nd amendment and your rights to bare arms ..... then give out about the amount of gun crime lol and violevce in your society.... it is ridiculous the amount of guns available in the US ...... in my part of the world it is not a right to have a gun it's a privilege to be allowed to own a firearm ......

Dont get me wrong now I'm not against guns .... I have 3 myself for hunting, but the fact that any idiot can get a semi automatic rifle in the states is just crazy ..... isnt it no wonder your law enforcement has to be harder on the citizens....

over here and in Ireland where I'm originally from the police dont carry guns becuase only a tiny proportion of the population actually own guns .... even hand guns are illegal..... could you imagine a cop in the US trying to do there job without a gun !!! ...... it seems to be their first reaction in any situation to pull there weapon..... probably cause everybody and their granny has a gun in the US.

your country is in a perpetual fear cycle ..... which is what brings this kind of drone law enforcement about .... everyone is afraid that everyone else is pack'n so it ends up like the old west .... shoot first ask questions later otherwise your dead. So now they've come up with a way where the cop doesnt get shot, well done. to be honest if one of these things is comming after you it aint for no reason ..... you probably deserve what's comming to you.

its kinda sad really ...... just look haw far down the sink hole the US has gone in the past 50 years .... I think the US was in better shape during the great depression (obviously not financially) than it is now as a society ....as a commumity ..... most of your country has kind of lost that sence of community it's all about the individual now.

There are still alot of good hearted red blooded americans out there though, thankfully so many of them frequent this site. I guess what I'm saying is the more violent your society gets the more aggressive your law enforcement has to be .... it's enevitable ..... Do you remember that film with Silvester Stalone as Judge dread ..... thats how I picture America in 50 years or less, probably not the flying motorcycles but the cops bieng judge, jury and excutioner.

The sad thing about this topic is that the only person that replied is a person in another country. If this topic was about politics or LGBT we would have 3 pages of comment. I have to admit the USA is going down the toilet. I guess will play follow the turd (I mean government)

Well it could be the time of day you posted it. I will help bump it...

Also, yes the drone situation is just one of many things the government is doing that really scares me.

The bigger problem is most people are still frogs in the pot of hot water getting hotter all the time. I am ashamed to admit I was one of them, but I am awake now. Once you know and are aware you cant unknow! Sometimes I wish I could. The ONLY good thing that I can say came out of the Obummer presidency is it woke me up and I think a lot of others up. I just hope it is not too late!

Machine, you are brave to put that opinion out there, LOL I am sorry you feel that way but I will always side with freedom over opression. I dont own a gun but I defend the right of another that freedom.

In this scenario, seeking justice in a court room would be a waste of time. I would be looking for a good vantage point to set up my M24 or a Fielding M110. You know what they say; "Long distance is the next best thing to being there"

I agree with roadrunner. That's pretty much the only option if that happens. I do not think having drones flying all over the place is a good thing overall. I will admit that yes there are some places where they could be useful, like scouting out pot fields or methlabs or even searching for people lost in the wilderness. But here in KY the KY state police have been doing just fine with the occassional helicopter and single engine looking for people growing pot. And there is quite a bit of that lol. Regarding the drones, yes dispatching them from long range is fine, but probably messy. I have a compromise. If the ptb get drones, we get drones. Same as theirs. Should be fun.

To the machine, I'd say you are mostly right about police response to guns. However, the big thing over here is that the vast majority of people who legally own firearms don't cause much trouble. The people that do are the ones the cops and regular people worry about. Bad or desperate people will victimize others regardless. And gun crime here isn't very high especially versus how many guns there are. Felons can't buy guns, but they will get them if they want them. That would happen whether semi autos were illegal or not. Yes, there are armed robberies and assaults/ etc but the people who participate usually obtain their guns illegally.. Asid from the fear porn our media blasts us with, part of our mindset is that we know help won't likely get there in time. If at all. Unfortunately that parf is true. So, owning a weapon levels the playing field.. or tips it in a potential victims favor. Also, if you've watched American television, you know we are all a bit mad lol.

However, these drones are all kinds of bad news.. and I'm pretty sure we are headed down a very dark path with what they may be heralding. They are not supposed to be used for questionable activities but I trust the people in charge about as much as I can throw a school bus. Likely they started out with this idea of over flying everywhere with good intentions.. but we know where those usually lead.
