’80 communists’ in House founded by socialist group

Rep. Allen West’s remark that up to 80 members of the House are communists was a reference to the membership of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, which was founded by a U.S. socialist group, the Democratic Socialists of America.

Some Caucus members still demonstrate a close working relationship with the socialist group.

West’s spokesman, Tim Edson, clarified in a statement today that West was referring to the Congressional Progressive Caucus in his talk with voters last night in Palm City, Fla.

Edson declared that the Florida Republican “stands by his words.”

“But the words the media needs to pay attention to are the words of the members of the Progressive Caucus,” the spokesman said. “They speak for themselves. Call it what you may, but these House members are clearly not proponents of capitalism, free markets or individual economic freedom.”

This guy is a nut case.

Allen Bernard West (born February 7, 1961) is the U.S. Representative for Florida's 22nd congressional district. A Republican, West took office in January of 2011. He is the first black Republican Congressman from Florida since Josiah T. Walls left office in 1876 near the end of Reconstruction.[5]

West served in the United States Army for more than 20 years of active duty service, including several combat deployments in Iraq. He achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel. After leaving the military he and his family moved to Florida where he taught high school for a year and worked for a defense contractor, including in Afghanistan as a civilian adviser to the Afghan National Army.

That informaion was never recieved to that administration. They have always been around' they are just more bold with this administration

Tell why and how he left the military???

LTC West, was never responsible for conducting interrogations in Iraq and he had never conducted nor witnessed one. However, based on what turned out to be a false report, West had his men detain a civilian Iraqi Police Officer named Yahya Jhodri Hamoodi for interrogation..

In the process of detaining Mr. Hamoodi, soldiers testified that Hamoodi “appeared to reach for his weapon and needed to be subdued”. Hamoodi had subsequently been beaten about his head and body, by four of West’s soldiers of the 220th Field Artillery Battalion. LTC West later admitted in military court that during the interrogation, he had fired his pistol next to Hamoodi's head, after which Hamoodi provided West with names and information. Mr. Hamoodi later described his inputs to LTC West as "meaningless information induced by fear and pain."

As a result of the information, only one of the suspects was later arrested, but no plans for attacks or weapons were ever found. West admitted that, "At the time I had to base my decision on the intelligence I received. But it's possible that I was wrong about Mr. Hamoodi."

After a full military investigation, LTC. West was charged with violating articles 128 (assault) and 134 (general article) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

During a hearing held as part of an Article 32 investigation, Lieutenant Colonel West was relieved of his command. The charges were ultimately referred to an Article 15 proceeding rather than a military court-martial. Therefore, West was fined $5,000. and LTC West accepted the judgment and immediately retired with full benefits in the summer of 2004. Had he not accepted the judgement, he would have spent many months in the military brig.

He is a disgrace to the military and a nut job.
