I am leaning more to Ennoreste on the rate, Iraq will need to be on par with the rest of the nations in the ME, and in a very short time they will blow past all of the economies over there.

In the last 3 articles we have seen they continue to talk about managed float as a method of controlling inflation. The control of inflation seems to be their primary concern at this point not rving the dinar. Sad to say...

If everything is shutdown for the election, it will truly be a miracle for the announcement to be made. & have we not squashed the whole "have to use dinar" thing for GIs in base? Maybe I'm missing something.

Things have to be shut down inorder for an RV to happen. So, it is a good thing they are shutting down during the election.

managed float is another saying for stall. there is no need for an rv as long as the US is footing the bill in Iraq. problem is, when we do pull out most of our forces, the country will probably revert back to it's waring tribes and be in cival war in less than a year. it's just their nature. i wish they would rv before us pulls out.

Also agree. Most of the big articles have all mentioned inflation as a primary concern. If this in fact is the case, the RV could still be a ways off. After an RV like this, inflation would go up above single digits for sure.... sooooo we wait.

What are you basing the comment "blow past" on ?? Oil ??? Or is there something I have missed in this thread that speaks to a rapid increase....BTW I am rather new and just trying to understand these things...Thanks

What better time to RV than while everybody thinks the gov't is shut down. A great time for secret meetings, no underlings snooping around and possibly leaking information...its things like this that gave us some of our most sweeping changes. The fact that they just made the holiday last month is cause for speculation

Until it happens.........noone knows. It is all speculations. Reading through this blog there are several different senarios. Make your own judgement. I think they are doing what they do best, and that is confusion. It is an art form for the ME. They consider themselves successful if they are efficient at this game. Everyone just wait and see what the outcome is. Nobody knows. It is like a game of chess. JMO

I don't think they could rv before the election. There was a post in the news section about everything shutting down and no vehicles allowed, not even animal carts. But hopefully it will happen soon.
