While this is a step forward, I was hoping it would be a step we could bypass. If Mahdi had received the nomination, this would have been over immediately. With Maliki winning and probably not able to get enough seats, another 30 days will pass and we will be back to square one with Allawi trying to form the government, possibly by making a deal with Mahdi. A step forward nonetheless, just not as quick as it could have been. Imagine that !!!!! Then again, maybe he gets the seats and this thing kicks into gear! Go RV!!!!!!!!!!

Adam, With articles claiming that Warka's "financial problems" (this was news to me) should be solved by November, an important question occurred to me. Upon RV, if you have a million dinar in a Warka account, and it RV's at 1 to 1, and you want to transfer funds to the US, Where does Warka get the 1 million dollars from to send to you? Or how does that work? Is Iraq somehow on the hook for it? My link

Lambert, I got paid 1.2% for basically one quarter of the year. This equates to 4.8% annually, which obviously is not bad. But my point was, over the past year in posts, the only interest rate numbers mentioned have always been 6% or 7%. So I just wondered where people got those numbers from. I'm guessing the way interest rates have been dropping over there that the same goes for local bank account interest rates, lower.

Just received interest on my Warka Accounts today for the first time. My accounts have been open for 3 months and 1 week total time. I received 1% interest on the USD account. I received 1.2% interest on my IQD account. This would put the yearly payout between 4% and 5%. I have been reading in posts for sometime that the rate is 6% to 7%. Can someone please clarify?
