  1. Monday Night football will get my attention .................................
  2. Sure he is going to "reject" the deadline, he is out of time. In the recent days a handfull of articles have addressed this topic,The 15 day window started on April 28th due to end this weekend. He may try to make "nice" with the others, try to BS them into thinking things will be different " with a little more time". From what I have read recently the others are not buying it. I believe Maliki is facing the "vote of no confidence" and desperate to try anything to save his sorry **s. Maliki cannot use Iraqi Constitution as a ploy; I'll use it when it works for me but I'll reject it when it goes against me. I agree with the about post from Uncirculd, much more detailed, from a seasons vet.
  3. I think too many people are watching this situation; the UN, IMF, WTO etc. In the old days, pre internet, a guy like Maliki could get away with this for a while. Look how long Saddam played it out. Clearly Maliki is out of time, out of tricks and rapidly loosing support. There is too much at risk at this point, too much work has been done, for all concerned, too let Maliki continue with his game. Live up to the terms of Ebril, that put him in power or take him down,
  4. Maliki appears to be out of time, if the 15 day clock started on April 28, depending on how it is counted, he is at about day 12 now. As I recall a "vote of no confidence" would promptly remove him from power. He either needs to live with the terms of Ebril, that put him in power, or step aside. That is the way I read it. I do not know how a "vote of no confidence" for Maliki would affect Parliament ?
  5. This is too good to be true. Is there another source to verify ?. Perhaps Maliki has adopted the western business procedure of saving the humiliation and embarrassment of a vote of no confidence, in his case and selecting to resign. It is better to resign than to be fired.
  6. I think Maliki is rapidly running out of time. Either he steps up and performs as promised or he faces a vote of no confidence. Not a lot of wiggle room for him at this point, game over.
  7. These press releases appear to be basic trade agreements between Iraq and the European Union. Another verification Iraq is open for business, willing and wanting to do business with the EU, Asia and the world. And we all know that, for this to occur Iraq needs a currency recognized in the world arena. Another piece of the puzzle revealed. I wonder why; we rarely see any press on the construction of schools, power plants, hospitals, water systems, sewage plants etc.
  8. Kind'a looks like one of Scooters charts. A good sign if they are discussing and asking for reviews of the proposed programs.
  9. Has the defined border between Iraq and Kuwait changed since Kuwait became a recognized international nation in circa 19xx ? Or could this be related to the long discussed area around the port ?
  10. Aren't they talking about restricting the flow of currency out of the country ?
  11. This appears to be another "mixed message" article with the "hint" from this UN representative that the border markers will take up to 8 months complete. But the remainder of the article indicates the UN is happy with the post war progress between Iraq and Kuwait and appears to be ready to release Iraq from Chapter 7. Are the border markers a deal breaker considering the recent progress made by Kuwait and Iraq ? ..................... This is like the county refusing to issue a permit on my ranch because I don't have a "No Trespassing" sign hanging on the "invisible fence". With the technology we have today, am I to believe the UN can't "draw a line in the sand".
  12. Back to the topic of this thread; Does anyone know when the "next legislative term" is scheduled to begin ?
  13. A Red Herring; look at this, don't look over there, it's another distraction. A modified version of the ol' smoke and mirrors trick ......................
  14. "Student member of the Parliamentary Ecomomic committee", so who is this guy, is he releviant to anyone but himself ? Does he have the full support of the committee to make such a statement and therefore represents the committee perspective ? I thought this was a law passed months ago, due to go into effect June 1.
  15. I smell smoke. This topic has been on the table for too long. Everyone involved, at this point, should know the points of agreement and contention.
  16. Are you fr**king kidding me, dude, put down the pipe and get real............................... OMG = (OBAMA MUST GO)
  17. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll be held hostage for the next year or so and disappear into the desert .....................
  18. I've got two questions; With all the mititary assets in the area, the US was not / is not able to track and ID any aircraft fyling from Iran to Syria ? So the Maliki government will not or did not ask for help ?
