I bought my Dinar in Iraq in 2003 when the new currency first became available. I bought all 25,000 notes so it would be easier to handle. At that time I was just hoping that over a period of years the Dinar would gradually appreciate. I had never even heard of an RV. With all the talk about lops and phasing out the zeros, etc. I wonder if I am at risk of the 25,000 notes becoming worth less and if I will be able to trade them for lower denominations here in the US.
When they introduced the new currency in 2003 there was a grace period of a couple of months where you could trade in your old Iraqi currency for the new currency. Of course at that time it wasn't a matter of the value of the note but just that they were phasing out the old "Sadaam Currency" and introducing the new.
If I were in Iraq now I would be trading in my larger notes for smaller ones but what do we do here in the US?
Thanks
