  1. Very thoughtful and from the heart. Thank you commtrd for your candidness and being honest. Let's say it is a realistic speculation with no guarantees All my best to you and I hope you do in fact eat these words Thursday Take care and keep hoping for the best always Jim ---
  2. Thank you action for the post. .86 sounds realistic at this point at least to me. It will grow over time, maybe a few years. Either way, .86 would be a great blessing! I would rather have them come in with this more conservative rate at first, hopefully it will benefit the Iraqi people who deserve a break and some relief and then have the rate increase over time. We all wait and hope for not just what is best for us speculators, but also what is best for the Iraqi people and their future growth. Thanks again! Jim ---
  3. It does seem odd at times, but really should not be viewed as anything more than just a traffic issue. Just last night, it took me awhile to be able to get on dinarvets, it appeared just a traffic issue and quickly was back up although a bit slow. I can see why you would think that though. there are lots of things that seem fishy nowadays All my best Jim ---
  4. Thank you Bumper...and yes, this is a classy site. Thank you Lilalbertus for posting this...nice to actually read good thinking among those who desire to share their knowledge without making the typical claims. Have a great day! Jim ---
  5. .85 - 1.25 is what I suspect to start... But no one knows, we just hope it will be attractive and help everyone involved. All my best! Jim ---
  6. If it is just a question, then why post it 3 times in a row unless it is intended to simply spread more rumor? http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/47478-if-no-dinar-is-going-in-or-out-of-iraq-then/ http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/47477-if-no-dinar-is-going-in-or-out-of-iraq-then/ it appears the other two places were already cleaned up This subject was already dealt with and found NOT entirely factual as you present it. Please take time to review the posts, it was discussed just yesterday if I remember correctly. Posting in this manner appears to be more of a game than an honest question. Just my opinion... I hope I am wrong regarding your intent. Jim ---
  7. To me, these numbers appear much more realistic. .85 - 1.25 and I sure would not be disappointed in that range. Thanks for the actual link and information. It will be interesting to watch it all unfold as we are at this time. Yes it is speculation and numbers games, but much more realistic than saying it will go straight to over 3$, not saying that cannot happen, but .85 to 1.25 is to me a more valid beginning. Either way, we wait, hope and watch together...also nice to read of NO lop talk Jim ---
  8. Yes, Lilabertus, I pray you can find relief soon, and I am sorry to hear of your condition. We all hope you come out on top of this challenge. All my best! Jim ---
  9. Kind of funny, someone predicted that the next "intel" would be Thursday for sure...then Sunday or Monday, etc. Would be great, but their track record is really bad because no one knows. That's what we have to realize and follow real available actual news. Seems like this fits that expectation of predictions. I say we just be patient and allow it to unfold as it will. Okie says this is the last time he will stick his neck out with intel...I would hope he would actually verify his "intel" before posting, but that does not seem to be an important step for these "gurus" Oh well, here is to the best outcome for everyone! Jim ---
  10. It is coming together, one piece at a time Thanks for the quality of the post along with some clarity, without the pumping! Well done and it is appreciated! Best wishes to all... Jim ---
  11. LOL...This is an example of how suspect certain actions can be...pump and make statements with no basis in fact nor supportable other than wishful thinking and of course making some think they must run out and buy more dinar. Thanks for the rumor, but it is not healthy to pay attention to this in my opinion. And yes, I wonder about these guys like TK, Okie, etc., it seems they may be getting rewarded for their unfounded statements in a manner that may not be constructive. I hope i am wrong, but something seems all too clear that their motives are not good, especially when they toy with peoples minds and emotions, not a good thing. I am amazed at how these kind of numbers can just be thrown out like this...oh well, stay steady and hopeful, which can be done without these kind of constant rumors, although they can at times be quite funny AND sad at the same time. All my best! Jim ---
  12. Thank you for your input. I have often wondered myself, if it was *possible* that some of these "gurus" just may be pumping in order to get people to run to their favorite dealers to buy more on emotion rather than diligent research. Maybe some of these guys really are getting something in return from certain dealers so they write things that are false yet everyone wants to believe them, and the worst part is these guys are messing with peoples minds and playing games in ways that are quite tasteless in my opinion. I am not saying they ARE doing this, but to me sometimes things they say imply they may have an alterior motive in doing so. Having a track record as some of them do, I find it peculiar they say the things they do without some other motive and almost always without facts to back them up. It is wise to stay with facts and be patient period, although the rumors can be funny, but not when it plays with peoples minds. Then it becomes manipulative and hurtful. All my best Jim ---
  13. Thank you pokerplayer! What you described is true wealth, an RV would simply be another kind of wealth, but not the same as what you beautifully stated. For sure it would be icing on the cake! Thanks... Jim ---
  14. Thanks marc2...kind of sad really when you think about it that one cannot even respond with sincere thoughts without being labeled. it appears at least to me we all want the same thing of course, but we also should stay grounded and not allow somones supposed "intel" to alter the reason why we got into this to begin with. It is good to read and try and learn, but to base ones decisions upon what the gurus say will always lead to disappointment as far as I can tell. Bottom line: We are all in this together and want the same outcome, hopefully a positive one that will not just help out our own personal situations, but also I hope we remember those who would need our helping hand that are all around us, and be willing to bless others. I certainly hope the people of Iraq finally begin seeing some major improvement within their lives after so many years of being beat down by self absorbed "leaders". Best wishes! Jim ---
  15. Well said keep, thank you for that. It is a matter of folks just trying to grab at whatever straw of hope they can. It is understandable, but also very good to understand what you just wrote. it will happen when it happens and no one knows when that will be, but it is coming together piece by piece. It appears the "intel" "gurus" truly should not be viewed as "fact"....it has proven time and again to be riddled with more hype than fact. This is what frustrates so many, as it is easy to want it to be true...one day hopefully the truth will simply be when it has RV'd and hopefully at an attractive rate. All my best! Jim ---
  16. This is all I found regarding US soldiers pay and dinar...this is from the army. http://www.army.mil/-news/2010/02/03/33906-use-of-us-dollar-in-iraq-being-reduced-to-stimulate-local-currency-economy/ I would not read too much into this though, as the article is from Feb. 2010. Best wishes! Jim ---
  17. Patience is a wonderful virtue It will take much patience as many here have been invested and waiting since 2003. I have only been in this since early December, so I am just letting it ride, when it occurs we will all know and may just hear the screams that ring out if it in fact RV's as we all hope offering a good return. It is an interesting investment that does not occur very often for sure! All my best to you... Jim ---
  18. We bought ours all from ebay so far, was able to save some money in the process compared to most sellers. So far, we have had great service and all genuine product. For safety sake, my wife printed out all receipts from paypal to show purchase proof just in case we would be asked, but I would think the most important factor is that they are genuine notes and that you make sure all the security features are present and accounted for. Jim ---
  19. Welcome to you! Glad you took the time to join and take part. Hope you had a warm and blessed Christmas, welcome aboard! Best wishes to you! Jim ---
  20. It's ok John to go through the ups and downs...we all do. I have only been invested since early December, so I have not had those ups and downs. i realized when we decided to go for it, that it will not happen on our schedule...it will happen in my opinion, when we least expect it. My decision was not based upon all the chatter as much as it was upon the fact that it has a high probability to revalue in the future, whenever that arrives, based upon many factors that may or may not come to fruition. But there is good reason to hang on as this currency will someday catch up with the facts on the ground and what is in the ground. It is pure speculation, but it is not all wishful thinking, there are telltale signs that things are changing fast, and we simply wait for the desired outcome staying realistic that there is always risk involved. We all hope for the best and just when we think it will never happen, we just may be pleasantly surprised Glad you are feeling better my friend All my best! Jim ---
  21. Sorry for the long post...but I think this is the text of his link attempt...it is from currency newshound, not meaning to promote any other site...oooops...sorry, did not see the previous post...thank you! Close to Maliki, it says the consequences of «final accounts» and demands that the House of Representatives discussing The source said a senior central bank, on Sunday, and there are at least 30 trillion dinars surplus money held by the Ministry of Finance in the government banks, called for a parliamentary close to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, the House of Representatives to discuss the frozen funds in conjunction with the introduction of the general budget, noting to be part of a file final accounts which is still unresolved. And said Osama al-Chairman of the Board of Representatives at a meeting on Sunday to postpone the discussion the first reading of the draft budget of 2011 to today’s meeting Monday to make way for the purpose of the Finance Committee a draft of proposed amendments to the project. The government passed an early December the current budget deficit in 2011 amounted to 12 billion dollars will be covered by the amounts retained from the previous year’s budget and borrow internally and externally. He said a government statement that the projected income is estimated at 66.7 billion dollars, while expenditures amounted to 78.7 billion dollars, also pointed out that the calculation of income resulting from export of crude oil at a rate of $ 73 a barrel at a rate of 2.00025 million bpd, of which 150 thousand barrels from the territory of Iraqi Kurdistan. A senior source at the central bank said in a statement to “the world” on Sunday, “there are at least 30 trillion dinars (about $ 27 billion) surplus money from the successive budgets, maintained by the Ministry of Finance in the government banks.” He preferred not to be named to the sensitivity of the information given by that “most of the ministries and state-owned enterprises with funds deposited in state banks away from the eye of control and not subject to scrutiny and accountability”, calling for “re-launch of these funds huge within the next budget instead of talking about external borrowing to meet the deficit.” The source pointed out that “the reserve requirement imposed by the central bank to banks and the 15% of the deposits, confirmed the presence of this huge amount at the disposal of the Ministry of Finance,” saying “run away for a declaration that something is unhealthy, and must be addressed clearly.” He denied that the fiscal surplus is a central reserve, emphasizing the “possibility to fill the money frozen a large part of the deficit announced by the government in the general budget.” The source attributed the high survival of billions of dinars under wraps to “poor financial management, because the deficit units in the Ministry of Finance does not know the size of cash flows owned by the ministry, and this is due mainly to the failure of the accounting system in Iraq, which should speed up development.” The official said the Central Bank in his speech for “the world” by saying that “the central bank is under pressure from many sides,” asserting that “the Iraqi constitution does not allow lending to the government of the Central Reserve only in case of emergency too.” The Office of Inspector General, the U.S. opposed the Iraq given financial assistance to support and train the security forces, noting in a report released last summer to acquire Baghdad backed up significant financial does not deserve him any U.S. aid, but that the Iraqi government denied having money than those deposited at the Central Bank. For his part, called on Deputy Prime Minister close to the House of Representatives to “the need to discuss the frozen funds in government banks,” pointing to it as “a file from the consequences of closing accounts that are still unresolved.” While not denying the existence of surplus funds, said the National Alliance MP Abdul-Hadi al-Hassani said “the House of Representatives to claim the final accounts to illustrate the size of government expenditures since 2003,” but he admitted “it could not link the approval of the final budget accounts.” Hassani said that “the parliamentary session witnessed repeated claims directed to the Ministry of Finance to submit the final accounts of the past years, but many circumstances have prevented the achievement of this requirement.” He attributed that to several reasons, most importantly, “the security situation, and the conflict between the government bureaucracy and the Iraqi constitution, which encourages investment and reconstruction in the country.” He said a member of the National Alliance that “the state institutions failed during the past years to encourage the private sector, but rather looks at him with suspicion, and this is what has hampered the growth of the private sector, and stressed from the grip of institutions on financial allocations to the provinces that lack turn to the human resources to implement their plans.” Hassani said that “mental central governing institutions of the state contrary to the Constitution, which encourages decentralized market economy, and gives wide powers to the parties, all that we missed many opportunities to develop the country and invest financial and human resources.” “We must at the House of Representatives to answer for the frozen funds that have not been cashed from past budgets in conjunction with the discussion of the budget in 2011.” And on the feasibility of external borrowing, the government intends to use him to fill the projected shortfall in the general budget, “said MP close to Prime Minister” borrowing is not negative all the time, especially if not accompanied by significant benefits and conditions as expensive as in the case of loans provided by international financial institutions for Iraq “. He added, “Add to this that the loans include a dimension to help Iraq’s economy to achieve further growth, institutions international help economies and promising of our domestic economy. And some begging for loans, while these institutions are offering to give Iraq loans soft like a grant.” He stressed that “the world is betting on the experience of Iraq, does not allow failing because it has the dimensions of political and security are linked to international peace and security.” --- Hope that helps.... Thank you rocketman for enough info to find it with a little digging. All my best to everyone! Jim ---
  22. My condolences to you smee2. I pray you experience a peace and comfort deep in your heart knowing that all things will work out as they should. You have had much pain, and you feel it especially during times such as these. Faith is a gift along with grace, and when you feel you are at your weakest point, then is often when you realize you are being maintained and made strong in your time of weakness. Hold on to hope, and may you have a joyful Christmas. This momentary light affliction does not compare to what awaits us in many ways. All my best to you! Jim ---
  23. Thank you k98 Enjoy the snow and you have a blessed Christmas with your family. I am in Pa., so everyone knows it is already white here, at least where I live We have about 8 - 10"' on the ground where I live, a little more falling today. Best wishes to everyone! Jim ---
  24. We just rec'd our credit card statement today. I ordered from SCGS Dec. 10, and our statement ending date was 12-17. There is NO charge posted, so SCGS obviously never even processed the order, but yet they emailed me on my second inquiry and said they would "replace" my order...so far we have not been charged by them as I stated, at least not yet has it showed up. Still, good advice, I am going to simply tell them to cancel the order then. If they cannot clearly tell me what my order status is after 2 weeks, something must have gone very wrong with their business is all I can figure. Thanks again for the advice! Jim --- LOL! Sorry, we are not that desperate...hahahaha...that was good though, but someone may have actually take you serious and spent what they did not have! Thanks for the laugh... Jim ---
  25. Thanks so much for all you guys input and advice. Yes, DT was more reasonable but with fedex it was 164. total I believe, and we went for smaller purchases as we could afford them. Thanks also for the GID advice....I was not aware of them and the smaller offerings suit us better at this time. Over the last 3 weeks we have purchased smaller amounts and denoms, still overall less expensive than going through a dealer, at least for us. Appreciate all of you taking the time to help! Jim ---
