  1. Iraq: cleric warns Maliki of walkout if US troops stayMoqtada al-Sadr willing to imperil prime minister's position if US soliders stay past expiration of security agreement Share3 Martin Chulov guardian.co.uk, Sunday 9 January 2011 20.24 GMT Article history Moqtada al-Sadr's speech will come as a blow to US ambitions of maintaining a large troop presence in Iraq. Photograph: Mushtaq Muhammed/REUTERS In his first speech since returning to Iraq, the firebrand cleric Moqtada al-Sadr (centre) warned that he would walk out on the Iraqi government if US soldiers were asked to stay – sounding a death knell to any US ambitions to maintain a large troop presence in the country. The anti-western Shia cleric attempted to strike a more statesmanlike tone than he had adopted before leaving for Iran almost four years ago. However, the key theme of the address he gave on Saturday in the Shia holy city of Najaf was clear: he would walk out on the prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, and imperil his government, if US troops were asked to stay after their security agreement expired in December. The issue of the US footprint in Iraq once its bilateral agreement with Baghdad runs out is one of the enduring strategic issues of its eight year campaign in Iraq – and a moment that neither side is yet prepared to bring to a head. Before Sadr's speech, Maliki had strongly suggested he would not negotiate an extension with Washington. Iran – a key backer of Maliki's government and broker of a deal between the second term prime minister and the Sadrists who got him there – has been far more explicit, insisting publicly that no US troops would remain. As revealed in the Guardian in October, Iran had conditioned its backing of Maliki on a total end to the US presence, which currently stands at around 45,000 troops, most of whom are not deployed in a fighting role. The Iranian deal was jointly backed by Hezbollah in Lebanon and by Syria. There have, however, been calls for an ongoing US military training and mentoring role in Iraq from influential players, such as the chief of staff of the Iraqi Military, Lieutenant General Babakir Zebari who said that some US troops may be needed for at least another decade. "I said that [last year] and I still say it," he told the Guardian. "This is my opinion as a military man. It is not advice for the government. At the end of the day it is their decision." A significant issue for both sides is who will control the air space over Iraq. At the moment, Iraq has limited control and is considered unlikely to have the capacity to manage all its air space at the time of the scheduled US pullout. For now, neither Washington, nor the US embassy in Baghdad are willing to talk about a new deal. US ambassador to Iraq, Jim Jeffrey said in a briefing last month that there have been no discussions about troop numbers. "We have a security programme beyond 2011 that doesn't require a [security agreement], that doesn't require a force presence. "We will have a the embassy a significantly-sized office of security co-operation ... that provides advice, assist training, equipping functions to military and security forces and we will also take over from the US military a police training programme. At the strategic level our security co-operation and security dialogue will be very active. "I think Iraq and the United States will maintain a very close relationship," Jeffrey said. "I can't say what the relationship will be vis a vis Iran. The historical record is very clear – Iran and certainly the Sadrists were opposed to the security agreement. "A parliamentary ally of Mr Maliki, Hadi al-Hassani, tonight said the security agreement would not be renewed. We agree with the Sadrist position," he said. "Mr Maliki has renewed his commitment to end the pact as scheduled. There is no pretext or excuse for the ongoing presence of occupation forces." http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jan/09/iraq-cleric-maliki-us-troops I have writeen about this in the past Irans influence will hinder the RV!!! This is a fact whether people like it or not. Be well and stay real.
  2. I wrote about this topic a couple of days ago I suggest you read what I wrote!
  3. Hi, I made several post on here that are very similar in nature to what the gentelman in Iraq is saying and everyone is in a bubble. Not to bash these so called gurus but what this gentelman is saying is absolutly correct. I will recap some of the info I shared in the past. 1. Iraqi goverment is not stable (espicially now that Moqtada is back) 2. Communications in and out of Iraq is extremly difficult (how can okieoil man communicate on a daily basis?) 3. Iraqi oil production is not enough of a reason for an RV. 4. An RV will happen on Iraqi time not ours. 5. Iran has greater influence over Iraq than the USA! 6. Imports of goods and services cannot exceed oil exports. 7. RV will happen when Iraq has its act together which will take time. It is time that people look at hard facts and not on info that they hear from a person that heard it from another person it is abvious for me that these so called gurus have good intentions but time after time provide false info. I am not bashing here just saying the truth. Be well and stay real!
  4. Here is a quick history from a Iraqi Jew I met in the bank today. Before Saddam took control of Iraq 1/3 of bagdad was Jewish the other 1/3 Christian and the other 1/3 Muslim. The Finance Minister was Jewish and he made sure the Dinar was tied to the gold standard not oil that was a reason the dinar was so strong. When Saddam took over there was a major exodos of Jews out of the country and Christians as well. They took all their wealth and left the country. When Saddam came to power he kept the gold standard but deceided to tie the dinar to oil because the USA and other Western countries started to explore oil and build refiners so the Dinar remained strong. What he told me was that the country is currently in relative choas and even if it appears that the goverment is established corruption is rampant. He thinks RV will happen once the goverment gets their act together. So my friends this is a new prespective for you all. Be well and stay real.
  5. I am only speaking based on what I know regarding factual info that I know that is happening as far as communication goes in or out of Iraq. Now if this Okie has special privilages which I highly doubt than good for him. I might be wrong but I was expressing my opinion. Let me ask you how do you know he has the right connections to communicate freely?
  6. I agree I want an RV bad but I am sharing factual info. This guy will do what ever he can to hurt the USA.
  7. I know this becaue I am from Israel originally and I read it on an Israeli paper. They said that The Jordanian King called the Israeli Prime Minister to discuss this very issue. Okie whoever he is and what ever connections he has would be limited by means of communications and he would have to get clerance everytime he needs to contact anyone outside of Iraq. He's calls are probably being listined to as well. You might ask how I know because I have a coworker from Iraq and she has a difficult time contacting her family in Iraq so all these reports we are supposedly getting out of Iraq on a regular basis are hard for me to believe. If my co worker that has family in Iraq can't get a hold of someone dear to her how could anybody else communicate freely? Food for thought.
  8. Hi, There is a disturbing development that has happened in Iraq in the past few days that people don't realize or don't care to realize. Moqtada Sadar has returned to Iraq. He is backed by the Shite goverment of Iran and has major influence on the shite population in Iraq which is 80% of the population. He is a terrorist and there are reports that he is planning on placing weapons on the jordanian border and using his influence in the Iraqi goverment to push Iranian agenda. I posted about the Iranian issue in the past. What does this mean for the Dinar it will probably not RV until the USA stops Iran's influence in Iraq! Not to be a downer but we need to be realistic and understand what is happening on the ground. Also something that I know for a fact communication in or out of Iraq is very limited so I wanted to know how is it that the Okie oil man is able to communicate so freely with these gurus? I just want to know it is an honest question.

I am at work now here is the verbage from the sign from FDIC "All funds in noninterest-bearing transaction account" areinsured in full by the federal deposit insurance corporation from December 31,2010, through December 31 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules". This is the truth! If banks that offer FDIC don't have this new signs they are not in compliance. FDIC is tied to the goverment as well! Be well I don't BS here like most people do I am a realist not someone that will give false info. I have spoken to my district manager nothing is happening. Hang tight it will happen just not now.
  11. nir

    info

Your bank is not in compliance if they don't post the new regulation.

    info

Dear JIM, FDIC is a goverment regulated entity and if you have no fate in them that means you have no fate in our goverment. I will always say things the way they are as it says on my profile; I bring the facts. No emotions and no BS take it for what it is. I am not in a poplarity contest here I am just trying to help with some info here. The original post was not intended to be one that goes by my uncle said that he heard from his sisters grandmother that there would be an RV. My coworker is real her last name is well known in Iraq! I have another coworker that works with me in the mortgage dept and she is from Iraq and gave me the same exact info. Again take it for what it is. Be well.

Hi, My co worker is Iraqi from Iraq with family in Iraq. This is real info and not BS. Her grandfather was a mayor of a city outside of Bagdad. So here is the fact there will not be an RV this year or next based on what her family is saying. There will be an RV eventually because all her family owes Dinar. She told me to hold on to my dinar with dear life. It will happen but not in the foreseeable future. I hope she is wrong. Be well all.
  18. I am not a saying a lop will happen but there is a possibility that they will lop first and then introduce the lower denominations did anyone think about that? Is that a possibility? I really don't want that to happen! Please let me know.
  19. Since that article I bet Iranian influence has grown eventhough the Iraqis don't like that but also keep in mind the Newspapers in Iraq are most likely controlled by the Sunnis.
  20. Hi, I want to mention two factors that no one seems to discuss or care to discuss the first is Iran. Iran is a major player in Iraq; the reason being because 80% of Iraq is shite and Iran has a major influence on the Iraqi goverment. We all might think the the USA and other allies have control over Iraq's economy and so forth but that is false. Iran has as much if not greater control on the Iraqi goverment and economy. Another fact that people seem to oversee is the cultural issues that are happening in Iraq at this very moment between the Kurds, Shits and Sunnis. We must understand that it is a complex world in that part of the world and they don't really work on Western sentiment they don't really care how people in the western world care about them. Iraq is a rich country with many resources and also has a rich History. On the same token Iran has the same attributes but their currency is in the toilet. Many people on here compare or wish to compare the IQD to the Kuwaity currency when that currency RV'd however Kuwait was more aliened with western goverments and was in a situation that is ten times better then the situation Iraq is in today. Another fact is that Iraq has much more influence from Iran than the western world; people just don't know that. I am personally invested in the dinar because I am taking a gamble that the people of Iraq are smart enough to realize that the USA is there to help them but everything on the ground is showing a growing Iranian presence which is worrisom, and could delay any progress in Iraq as far as the RV goes. I just wanted to bring another prespective and another issue that the so called gurus happen to ignor. Be well and stay real!
  21. It also mentions a lop which I have noticed a lot of credible articles talking about I personally hope not.
  22. The Rollercoaster ride by Marcus Curtis on January 1, 2011 http://iraqcurrencyw...ercoaster-ride/ A friend of mine has invested heavily in the Iraqi dinar. He says that when this thing RV’s he is going to buy his very own amusement park. I told him he should build a roller coaster and call it the dinar Rollercoaster ride. Each car in the coaster could be in the shape of a 25,000 note, or a 10,000 note. I said this because he loves to ride this rollercoaster called The any minute RV theory. This is how it works. To enter the ride you must first buy a ticket in the form of dinar. So your minimum purchase is 100,000 dinar. Now you surf the internet and the many forums looking for information. You happen upon the many post by gurus. There is TK saying a day and a rate. You begin to calculate this new-found wealth in your head. You soon realize that there is no way you bought enough dinar to pay all debts and do the things you want to do. So in your haste you buy another 250,000. It is important to get this before the RV, and before the rate changes. You begin to imagine what you could do with your new-found wealth. Your excitement mounts as feelings of euphoria overcome you. You begin to imagine just what you will say to your boss and anyone at work that has abused you, or made fun of you. You are on top of the world. No one at work can explain your new great attitude. The day of the RV comes. You find a post by TK that says It is done, it happened! You check Forex and the CBI website, but there is no sign of an RV. You frantically look in the forums. Someone posts that the RV happened in country, and the ripple effect will soon be here. You hold out hope for a few more hours. Then you happen to come across a lop post with convincing information. Your whole world has just collapsed, and you now find yourself doubtful. As a new work week approaches you get even more depressed. Monday you go to work and you’re in a pretty bad mood. You feel taken and defeated. What are you going to do with this dinar you blew all your money on? The next day you read through the forums. The thought comes maybe I can find a sucker in here to buy this worthless stuff from me. You read a post that debunks everything about the lop, and now you realize that the lop theory is just a bunch of BS. This time you come across information from a different guru of a new rate and a new date. Since the lop has been debunked, you can now see the potential. You rationalize that this could possibly happen. Then you find the news article that confirms to you the RV is soon. OK so you were off by just a little. Once again you begin to imagine what you will spend your new-found wealth on, and how you will treat your boss. Feelings of excitement overwhelm you. You can’t help your self. You buy more dinar just to make sure you have enough after taxes. The big day of the RV comes and goes. TK announces that it is done. Forex and CBI confirms your worst fears. Once again it is Monday morning. It is a new day, but all the redenomination articles you read on Sunday still have you pretty upset. Now you even bought more of this stuff!! By this time, all your coworkers have classified you as moody. The boss will reflect this in his annual review of your performance. On Tuesday you read news articles that now say there will be no lop or redenomination. On Wednesday Someone presents new-found information for an RV real soon. You find similar posts in other forums. The gurus jump on this and set a date. You now begin to get excited once again. Great feelings of financial freedom come. You read in the forums that you can only lock in a rate if you purchased a million dinars. You also read that the rate will come out high and go down. Now you buy even more dinars because you want to get the best return on this investment. You want to lock in a rate. It seems that now the only posts you click on to read in the forums talk about when and how much, as this now becomes your only concern. Now you’re in for over a thousand US dollars. The excitement mounts. The day of the RV comes and goes, but there is no RV. Monday morning you go into work. A coworker has placed an ad on your desk for a trial sample of Prozac with a doctor’s prescription. Rumors of you being bipolar race through the office by the water cooler. They are just trying to be helpful. As the week goes on you look forward to the new RV date. You keep telling yourself this is going to happen this year! This has got to happen! It is going to happen soon! I just know it! All rational is thrown out the window. You begin to purchase even more dinar as the ride increases in speed. Before long, what started out as only 100,000 dinar now turns into millions. Now you anxiously await every new date that surfaces. By this time you made every religious coworkers prayer list in the special unspoken section. The company added a mental health section to it’s health benefits and your boss urges you to take advantage of it! Does this sound familiar? If it does you made my prayer list too. Why ride this rollercoaster Ride? Don’t get me wrong. I believe the dinar will RV, but I think it is better for your health if you focus on the facts instead of speculation. What you really need is a quest for truth. You must be honest with yourself and consider every aspect of this investment. Where ever the truth leads it leads. Don’t try to influence it!! Avoid speculation and avoid rumors! In your case “take this only as rumor” is like saying to an alcoholic have one drink, but don’t drink anymore. You need to focus on the parts of this investment that can be verified, and not be caught up with every wind of doctrine that blows your way tossing you about like a ship on the ocean. So how does one get off the roller coaster ride? I am writing this towards the end of the best rollercoaster ride. It is January 1st new years day 2011. The RV was supposed to happen by now and we were all suppose to be rich. The Paris club agreement along with other Intel suggested the RV would happen in 2010. I still believe in this investment. That has not changed. I have said this time and time again. NO ONE KNOWS THE RATE OR THE DATE! Everything involving this has been pure rumor from day one. So in part two of the roller coaster ride. I will address how to get off the roller coaster and how to be grounded in this investment. Don’t let your emotions rule you!
  23. This is for sure going to get bashed. What does g-d have to do with this investment? I might be dumb or something but I think that this post has no place in this forum or any forum for that manner. This is an investment and G-D has nothing to do with it. If the right enviorment exsists for the RV then it will happen if not then it won't. Please keep emotions out of this stay real to yourselves and understand that this is an investment not a holy endavor. If the dinar rv's and you make money I would expect many of us to use it for good causes I know I would but that is when you should bring faith into this. Be well.
  24. ok let's talk facts you people compare the Iraqi Dinar to Kuwait and that is the major compelling argument for the Iraqi dinar Rving plus the oil reserves. What about Iran have you ever tought about the enourmous resources that country has and the value of their currency? I didn't think so. I think that Iraq is different than Iran but there is a possibility that Iraq will fall in the same foot steps the Iran currency is at. I am bringing something new to light today and I hope you understand that Iran has major influence over Iraq. Now regarding the goverment for those of you bashing them I want to tell you something they get paid to do their research they talk to goverment officials and they are in the know how. They wouldn't risk posting false info if it wasn't true. I can't believe the way people think for goodness sake you live in this country and have no faith in your goverment than why live here? I have posted before and said that Iraqi Oil supply is not at full strength for the dinar to rv also if imports exceed oil production that's not a good sign. There are also many cultural issues affecting the RV and people don't seem to get it. RV might happen and might not we might see Iraq go in the foot steps of Iran economy wise not politically necessary, but we might see them succeed and follow kuwait's foot steps. I believe that they will follow Kuwaits footsteps. But please be realistic and keep your emotions aside!
