Thanks for the post, it is very appreciated! Mind if I ask what the "perfect storm" prices are on oil to be watching for?

Obviously I need to hedge this post a little... So, besides a date and rate...what would be the top 3 questions you would ask?
-
So here is the deal. I was telling a family member today about this investment and found out that they have a trustworthy contact in Iraq. I don't know how much time I will be able to talk to this person so I want to have very pointed questions that will reveal any pertinent information. If you had one to three questions to ask this person what would they be in order of importance? In case it matters I believe this contact is a private contractor in the security field. No promises, but whatever I find out I will pass along.

THANK YOU! Great post.

Pretty much status quo...this link is pretty good: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ar&u=http://nahrain.com/d/news/10/11/101123ac.htm&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dnahrain%26hl%3Den%26prmd%3Div&rurl=translate.google.com -
How is that possibly a bad thing on a $1100 investment?

Well laid out, thanks for your contribution in clearing this up!

I just got on here tonight and was unaware of the "news" of this most recent cc. After looking around a bit I decided I wasn't going to say anything, being a newbie and all, and just see how everything panned out. However, after reading Tony's post I would be amiss if I didn't at least post a "well done" in regards to your level-headiness and reason. Look, I may have only been around for a little while, but it doesn't take being around to know that this investment has become emotional for everyone who has a grasp of it's possibilities. I'm going to slip into the background and watch this all pan out...patiently waiting for the RV and getting to know a few people on this site. For the record, I really do hope these guys will come back and we can all enjoy this ride once again together. Peace.

I think we should start a new section on this forum called "comic relief" and put all of this guys stuff in there...great to know I'm not THAT crazy!!!

It seems to me like Iraq is between a rock and a hard place at the moment, but they have a simple solution in moving forward with a lop-less RV. They have no more loan money coming in from the GOI and a people that are starving and not being paid money that is owed to them. They have enough "pride" to want their currency to be worth something and be a force in the world market. IMO they will bust their humps just out of pride and selfishness alone. I would like to see a link discussing the requirement of a Dec. 1 release of the budget though...I have seen that a couple of places but haven't actually seen an article to back it up...can you provide one?? Thanks for the encouraging words...I think people are in need of it after this weekend!

I wish I could give away my optimism...I have only been involved for a couple of weeks and I am looking at this as a long term investment, so if it RV's anytime in the next year I will be VERY excited!!! God's blessings to you and your wife...if/when it RV's I'm sure you will know about it!

Thanks for the post, this is awesome news!! -
Baghdad (NINA)- Proceedings of opening and receiving competitive tenders for international oil companies within the third round of licenses to invest gas fields started in Baghdad today morning. Ministry of Oil announced yesterday that it has completed preparations to organize the third round of licenses to develop 3 gas fields in which 13 international companies compete. "Ministry of Oil will organize the third round of licenses to develop 3 gas fields, namely, al-Siba in Basra, al-Mansouriya in Diyala and Okaz in Anbar", spokesman of Ministry of Oil, Asim Jihad, said in a press statement. "13 international companies will take part in the competition to win contracts, and Iraq will choose companies that afford highest production and least cost", he added. "Okaz is the largest among these fields due to its biggest reserve", he pointed out. It is worth mentioning that Ministry of Oil organized last year two rounds of licenses in which international companies competed to develop oil fields, and contracts were signed to invest 12 oil fields./End/ http://www.ninanews.com/english/News_Details.asp?ar95_VQ=FEEDHH

Obama Calls Maliki, Discusses Chapter 7 Release

This might not be related, but I saw your 2nd point and thought the following article might have something to do with it. Not sure if there was a trade of Oil for this Wheat, but I could see that being a possibility. Thoughts? http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=&to=en&a=http://www.radionawa.com/Ar/NewsDetailN.aspx%3Fid%3D40557%26LinkID%3D155 Blessings! -
Could the value of the dinar change drastically once the rate is announced? Would a change be in a matter of minutes, hours, days, etc? Thanks, Mlay901
-
Do you have a link for that UN announcement please? Thanks!

sounds like a great cause. I don't know at what capacity, but count me in as well.
