  1. Negative??? If I am a millionaire by mid December I see nothing but positive. We have to be patient, think about it for a second, if this happens even this year sometime we will all be smiling. Whether you are wrong or right I'll take it!
  2. Good question & thanks for the post. The verbiage seems to change weekly in all the different news articles & it makes it hard to understand what exactly is happening. I also read that Maliki has to have the cabinet approved by parliament (it said there was over 300 people in parliament), I will look for the link to that article & post it if I can find it. I wonder how we will KNOW if/when he has taken that step? Well I just found this.... lots of "hopes" challenge" & "what if's" but I'm used to that now. "Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki says he hopes to have a new government in place by mid-December. Mr. Maliki commented Saturday, two days after President Jalal Talabani officially asked him to form the government, and complete the challenge of choosing a Cabinet within 30 days. At a Baghdad news conference, Mr. Maliki said he is uncertain what would happen if the cabinet is not formed within the time limit. Earlier this month, Iraq's main political leaders reached a power-sharing deal that ended an eight-month political stalemate that resulted from inconclusive March elections. Former Prime Minister Ayad Allawi's Iraqiya coalition won the most of the seats but was unable to gain enough support from other parties to create a majority coalition. Prime Minister Maliki's coalition, which came in second, gained momentum and support after it partnered with another bloc led by anti-American Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr. Earlier, former Prime Minister Allawi indicated his coalition might not fully participate in the new government. Mr. Maliki said Saturday that he hoped Iraqiya would take part, but added that government formation would continue even if members of the bloc dropped out. Under the power-sharing deal, Mr. Allawi will head a newly created committee that will oversee national security. Separately, Iraqi officials announced the arrests of 12 suspected militants Saturday, who allegedly had a role in last month's deadly attack on a Christian church. Authorities say 52 people were killed after gunmen burst into the Baghdad church and took more than 100 people hostage. An al-Qaida group - the Islamic State of Iraq - has claimed responsibility. Some information for this report was provided by AFP and Reuters." http://www.voanews.c...-110905674.html
  3. I think this video is positive information & in addition to your Ali video I want to add this link, the woman interviewing is the same as in this Jim Cramer/CNBC clip, this was about a year ago.
  4. I read here that Allawi is in London for his daughters wedding. http://www.khaleejti...middleeast&col= I also read yesterday (I'm sorry I can't remember where but it was a similar article) regarding the security that it IS ramped up for the holiday, they went on to mention public places, touristy spots but I saw no gov or banking places mention. Just trying to keep grounded.
  5. I hear you, luckily my husband is in it with me so he understands. We all just want a better life & who can be blamed for getting excited about that possibility? Hang in there, when this is over we will understand more, be able to look back & see what really mattered in this puzzle. There are thousands of us going through this crazy trip together!
  6. I hope I am giving you the right one, I read soooooo much yesterday. I remember this post though clearly & I think it was the "Heard from zzzzzzzzz - newest of the new" post. Hope I'm right, just too many pages for me to search through to confirm. (Rumors section I believe)
  7. I believe there is only one kind of De La Rue machine. I think you need to call your bank/banks & ask them if they have one at their location or if they have to ship it elsewhere for verification. I personally would not want my Dinars in limbo like that. HTH.
  8. I tried twice & they were both returned??
  9. Are you saying we will only have moments to lock in a rate? I'm sorry I'm a little confuse by what you mean here & I'm going nuts trying to keep up with everything right now! I have my Dinartrade paperwork printed but it would take time to get it notarized and on a Sunday?? (ok breathing now)
  10. It was doing the wait thing for me last night. Now it's doing the error message.
  11. Thanks for the post!! Now to figure out what this all means It sounds like they are not planning on paying through the holiday. Is that what you got out of it? These poor people!!
  12. I have seen that said a couple times in here but I can't find where it came from, do you know? Also I have been watching the live updates on Al Jezeera all morning & they said the parliament will meet again Saturday morning. For what exactly I am trying to find out, also trying to figure out if Maliki needs to be voted in or he already is. The news reporter had mentioned something about the curfew, but again I don't know what that means. To me that's something I had before I turned 18.
  13. Yes it is sad to say the least. Sometimes I picture being at my local Starbucks & having a bomb go off, it makes me cry hold my children closer. I remember watching that statue of Saddam being pulled down & how I felt so hopeful for those people. I certainly appreciate the reminder of "it's not just news". Thank you kittycat.
  14. This is interesting to me. It states the PM ON TUESDAY...(read) So since Allawi boycotted the meetings Tuesday, did the PRIME MINISTER decide to actually do "the work of the people"??? Yes I am reading between the lines but that may be a better way to figure out what's going on considering all the contradictory news reports. Am I seeing too much into this?? – Tue Nov 9, 2:17 pm ET BAGHDAD (AFP) – Iraq's prime minister on Tuesday cautioned other countries not to encourage Christians to abandon their homeland, after France took in dozens of people wounded in a bloodbath at a Baghdad church. In the latest attacks on the minority community, meanwhile, three homes in the Mansur district of western Baghdad belonging to Christians were firebombed without causing any casualties, an interior ministry source said. The attacks came after a November 3 warning from Al-Qaeda that it would step up attacks on Christians. On his first visit to the church targeted on October 31, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said that at a meeting with Benedict XVI in 2008 he had asked the pope "not to let the east be emptied of Christians, nor the West of Muslims." "The countries that have welcomed the victims ... of this attack (on the church) have done a noble thing, but that should not encourage emigration," he said on a visit to the Syriac Catholic cathedral where the massacre occurred. In all, 44 worshippers, two priests and seven security forces personnel died during the seizure of the cathedral by Islamist militants and the ensuing shootout when it was stormed by troops. Around 60 people were wounded in the bloodbath and France swiftly offered to provide specialist treatment for those with the most serious injuries. France is the only country to have offered to take in victims of the attack. Thirty-four Iraqi Christians and a Muslim guard wounded in the incident flew in to France overnight on Monday for admission to hospitals for treatment. French Immigration Minister Eric Besson has said this fitted France's "tradition of asylum" to take them in, and that asylum would be "handed out generously" to those who seek it. An estimated 800,000 Christians lived in Iraq before the US-led invasion of 2003 but that number has since shrunk to around 500,000 in the face of repeated attacks against their community and churches. Christians in Baghdad have now dwindled to around 150,000, a third of their former population in the capital. On Sunday, a senior Iraqi clergyman said Iraq's Christians should leave the country or face being killed at the hands of Al-Qaeda. "If they stay they will be finished, one by one," Archbishop Athanasios Dawood told the BBC. http://news.yahoo.co...hristiansmaliki
  15. Photo I took at night, I love playing with light at night & photoing it. I'll be buying a pretty sweet camera set up if thing happens!! It's a road sign & other reflective roadside stuff.
  16. Hmmm, it appears that the first article (http://english.aljaz...5454727961.html) was posted about 9PM Iraqi time? The second was from 8:30AM. (Http://aljazeera.com...i-to-Remai.html) Assuming I have that right & assuming they both mean Iraq time. I assume I am going to continue to be confused...
  17. My friend who also has purchased Dinars from DT got an email a couple weeks ago confirming his order, he had not ordered any so he called. I can't remember exactly what the "problem" was but does anyone remember when their site wasn't working a while back? They were upgrading their system (why it wasn't working) & so there were a few glitches, nothing to worry about.
  18. That would be wonderful! Do you know where you read/saw that?
  19. That's the one I read, thank you carlablum! Notice it says "Although these rumours are still unconfirmed, they are from a source trusted by Iraq Business News." That is what is making me wonder what's really true because the FOX message just recently scrolled the same again, stating Monday. I guess time will tell
