  1. Between October 15, 2003 and January 15, 2004, the Coalition Provisional Authority issued new Iraqi dinar coins and notes, with the notes printed by De La Rue using modern anti-forgery techniques, to "create a single unified currency that is used throughout all of Iraq and will also make money more convenient to use in people’s everyday lives."[3] Old banknotes were exchanged for new at a one-to-one rate, except for the Swiss dinars, which were exchanged at a rate of 150 new dinars for one Swiss dinar. http://www.answers.com/topic/iraqi-dinar-1

  8. The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (CCASG; Arabic: مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية‎), also known as the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC; مجلس التعاون الخليجي) is a political and economic union involving the six Arab states of the Persian Gulf with many economic and social objectives. History Created on May 25, 1981, the 630-million-acre (2,500,000 km2) Council comprises the Persian Gulf states of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The unified economic agreement between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council was signed on November 11, 1981 in Riyadh. These countries are often referred to as The GCC States. Not all of the countries neighboring the Persian Gulf are members of the council. Iran and Iraq are currently excluded although both nations have a coastline on the Persian Gulf. The associate membership of Iraq in certain GCC-related institutions was discontinued after the invasion of Kuwait.[3] The GCC States have announced that they support the Document of The International Compact with Iraq that was adopted at Sharm El-Sheikh on 4-5 May 2007. It calls for regional economic integration with the neighboring states but there is no prospect of Iraqi accession to the GCC.[4]
  9. Not to be negative ,but Iraq has never been a memeber of the GCC. My prayers are now including a request for thenm to be a full member of the GCC....but to date they have never been one.
  10. Talion 1011 you make very good point...a reasonable answer would need to be worked out before an rv. I feel that the debit card plan might not reach all or enough of the intercountry transactions that take place among many of the smaller businesses and or traders within Iraq. IE a samll amount of goods sold to folks in a part of the country that doesn't even have reliable access to electricity. I know many of us live our lives with electronic transfer of funds on a daily basis but I think you would be surprised to learn how many people even in our country live in a cash filled world, without even checks or any electronic cards of any sort .
  11. Thanks for the holiday wishes Adam, I think many of us enjoy this site and the info that is e-mailed to us. I think if you clearly stated that you have arranged this site as a clearing house for info and opinions and as you mentioned that you clearly do not have any interest or personal stake in selling dinar, but that you derive income to run the site and for your time by selling the ad space on all of the sites that you operate that you would be laying all of the cards on the table and get rid of these idiots that want to bash you and the others running this site thinking that you have a sinister motivation. There is nothing wrong with you deriving income from selling ads, but I think it would explain why you and the leaders of this site are so vehemently dedicated to making sure as many people as possible are comfortable coming here. In other words a motivation to maintain revenue has the unintended positive consequence of making this a better place for people to go and hear about info that is posted. I among many are pleased with the openness and freedom which is given to all to express their opinions and to share thoughts. Thats why I think you just lay it out on the table and let it be what it is. If it is distrubing to anyone let them go wherever they choose, since you are running a high quality, truly honest and open site. Among the very best.
