  1. I still believe Maliki is going to try to be PM again, if not this time, one day. If he ever gets back in, I’m going to use my Dinar as kindling. 🙄😡
  2. It’s just another religious holiday in Iraq. I don’t put anything into it other than that.
  3. I’m so glad these poor overworked people get all these holidays to “rest”. No wonder it takes them years to accomplish what could be accomplished in 6 months.🙄🤨
  4. Well, it seems there are people in Iraq who know Maliki as we do. I hope Jamali and his family survives this attack.
  5. Am I understanding these articles correctly that Iraq is paying their back dues as an observer nation? I know the WTO said earlier this year that Iraq wasn’t ready to be a full member but now I’m wondering if the WTO was awaiting these dues to be paid or for other economic reason?
  6. Yep, they worked so hard on the budget, they need a month’s rest to have the energy to go forward.🤨
  7. Sssshhhhhh, use of that 4 letter word is forbidden 😅. It will be “in the coming days”. 😁
  8. I had the opportunity to visit Pennsylvania a couple years ago and took the tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield. I’ve studied the Civil War, felt I was familiar with the awful results but when the narrator of the tour said over 15,000 American soldiers died on that battlefield within 72 hours, I cried. I’m not a sap but for the first time, the cold reality of that war hit me hard. For the first time, I had a very small inkling of what our military men and women must feel who have fought in the different horrific wars throughout our history and witnessed other men and women slaughtered. As I said, just a small inkling, because there is no way in hades someone on the outside can possibly understand completely. God Save this Country, which has been fought so hard for, from the frigging lunatics who have no idea.
  9. I fear our true history will never be taught again in the public school arena. It must be taught at home by parents and grandparents. The children may not act interested or even reject it initially, BUT it will be remembered by them because someone they loved and respected told them.
  10. It’s d#)! sure not the first two. 😡. I know you were referring to the military man behind them but seeing those two hit my hot button.🙄 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
  11. I want to thank and honor every service man and woman who have served and is serving in our military. So many gave life and limb to protect this nation and this nation owes you so much. Civilians will never know or understand what military members or their families go through. Thank you seems so little, but THANK YOU and God Bless 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
  12. America never planned on leaving Iraq due to maintaining security in the Middle East. You may love it or hate it but if we aren’t there, China and/or Russia will be. All Jmho.
  13. Encouraging of course, but will keep my eye on the CBI rate. Would love to begin June or July with more money in the bank but I’ve learned the hard way to hold my excitement until we see the official rate at the CBI.
  14. The articles over the last several weeks indicated to me that ALL Dinar transactions were going to be electronically transacted and that was going to solve the problem of the high street rate. SO, if true, where is the black market merchants getting the Dinar to sell at the higher amounts?
  15. Maliki had 8 years to to do the right thing between the U.S. and Iraq. Instead, he seemed to do everything to hurt the Iraqi citizens and (imo) allowed ISIS to get a stronghold in Iraq. He shouldn’t have been left standing back then, but I don’t run the CIA.🙄😁
  16. Shoot, it sounds soon!! 🤩🤩🤩. 🫣 Time will tell. It would be nothing less than a miracle if the budget and the HCL passes this year. Don’t mean to be a Debbie Downer but this journey has taught me to get excited AFTER it happens.
  17. The Driving Test http://www.jokesclean.com/s.gif A professional juggler, driving to his next performance, is stopped by the police. "What are you doing with these matches and lighter fluid in your car?" asks the police officer. "I'm a juggler and I juggle flaming torches in my act." "Oh yeah? Let's see you do it," says the officer. So the juggler gets out and starts juggling the blazing torches masterfully. A couple driving by slows down to watch. "Wow," says the driver to his wife. "I'm glad I quit drinking. Look at the test they're giving now!" ———————— Men, you may think you have a command of the English language, but when it comes to communicating with women, you may be surprised. Here is our dictionary of Womanese. Master these terms and you'll find your relationship with women greatly improved. The Real Definition of Words When Used By Women http://www.jokesclean.com/s.gif Fine - I am right. This argument is over. You need to shut up. That's Okay - One of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. "That's okay" means she wants to think hard and long before deciding when and how you'll pay for your mistake. Nothing - The calm before the storm. This means "Something" and you better be on your toes. Note: Arguments that start with "Nothing" usually end with "Fine" (See #1). Five Minutes - If getting dressed, this means half an hour. (Don't be mad about this. It's the same definition for you when it's your turn to do some chores around the house.) Thanks - A woman is thanking you. Do not question this or faint. Just say, "You're welcome," and let it go. Loud Sigh - Not actually a word but rather a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. It means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is standing here wasting her time arguing with you about "Nothing." (See #3) Go Ahead - This is a dare, not permission. (Don't Do It!) Don't worry about it, I got it - The second most dangerous statement a woman can make. It means that a woman has asked a man several times to do something and is now doing it herself. (This will result in you asking at a later date, "What's wrong?" For the woman's response, see #3.) ——————— Old Age Quiz (For those of us over 45🙄 😁) Q: How can you speed up the heart rate of your 60+ year old husband? A: Tell him you're pregnant. Q: How can you avoid getting wrinkles? A: Take off your glasses. Q: No, seriously. How can I get rid of these crow's feet and all the wrinkles on my face? A: Go braless. It usually pulls them out. http://www.jokesclean.com/s.gif Q: What is the most common remark made by 60+ year olds when they browse an antique store? A: I remember these. Q: Where can a man over 60 find a younger, good looking woman who is interested in him? A: Try the bookstore under fiction. Q: What can a husband do when his wife is going through menopause? A: Keep busy. If he's handy with tools, he can finish the basement. Then when he's finished, he'll have a place to live. Q: Why should 60+ people use valet parking? A: The valet won't forget where he parked your car. Q: Is it a common problem for 60+ year olds to have trouble with memory storage? A: No. Memory storage is not the problem. Memory retrieval is. Q: Do people sleep more soundly as they get older? A: Yes, but it's usually in the afternoon. Q: Where should old people look for glasses? A: On their forehead. —————- Exercise Joke For those keyboard jockeys (those with jobs that require sitting at a computer all day) who don't want to spend the money for those fancy exercise machines, here is a little secret for building arm and shoulder muscles. Three days a week is best. Begin by standing (in your cubicle works well) with a five pound potato sack in each hand. Extend your arms straight out to your sides and hold them there as long as you can. After a few weeks, move up to ten pound potato sacks and then fifty pound potato sacks, and finally get to where you can lift a one hundred pound potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. Next, start putting a few potatoes in the sacks. —————————- An engineer was crossing a road one day when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog and put it in his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will stay with you for one week." The engineer took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to the pocket. The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you and do ANYTHING you want." Again the engineer took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess, that I'll stay with you for a week and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?" The engineer said, "Look I'm an engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog, now that's cool." ————- These are actual quotes of what people said in court, word for word:
  18. I get encouraged every time someone, in the government upper level, discusses this subject. Back in Shabibi’s time as CBI Governor, he stated this was a requirement for the RV. Almost 100% of Iraq’s economy is based on oil and it was Shabibi’s view that the economy must be more diversified. I know the man is dead but Muhammad Saleh was Shabibi’s Deputy Governor and currently Sudani’s advisor. Sooooooooo, I can hope, right??😁
  19. I’ll believe they are serious about arresting the thieves and corrupters when they do trot out Maliki. IMO, there’s never been a bigger criminal than he. Time will tell.
  20. I don’t recall my source but years ago I also read that if Iraq could mine all the minerals and petroleum products underground, they would be richer than Dubai. The problem, imo, is they have so many sects over there that no one wants the other to have anything and all they can do is fight among themselves. There is no legitimate reason they aren’t years ahead in their development than they are. I understand about Maliki and ISIS but if they could cooperate with each other instead of trying to steal everything, they would be so much farther along than they are. They still have a medieval mentality. 🤨
  21. Ahh, I asked in another thread if you still live in Australia and your use of “mate” indicates to me you do. 😊
