i hate to say this but FDIC is broke they have less than 1% backing on your 250000, when they raised the limit which ends dec 31st 2010 unless they extend it again legaly they are suppose to have a 1.15% FDIC is breaking the law. they have less backing than banks did in the Great Depression when they had 10 cents on the dollar.

Not to be a downer for everyone, US banks are not that secure, during the great depression, people had a run on the banks, the banks could not afford to pay everyone their own money, because for every dollar that was put into these banks, they loan out 10 times. so when the run on these banks happened they had two choices, give the money out on a first come first served basis, everyone gets their money till the cash on hand is depleated or give all customers $0.10 on the dollar, most banks did the latter. unfortunately. we have not learned from our previous mistakes, yes we adopted the FDIC, protecting your $100,000, (250,000 right now) but the FDIC is broke, they have 1.01% backing, the law states they should have no less than 1.15% just a very scary thought. go rv

The sellers got robbed unless they are banks or persons who know the reduced amount will be valued higher. Valued higher is an RV, right? If they bought 25,000 bills they would also be reducing liquidity, i.e. purchases from other banks. Let's hope some someone knows something we don't. Go rv. im no rocket surgeon,, but if you had $10 and bought 20.7 dollars from a stupid fried you just increased your reserve by 100% my guess is if yo could by a $20 for $10 wouldnt you? i would.. i would think that the money they bought was circulated devaluing the currency some even the banks devalue the dinar if it has been used vs not. i think that the sellers just got robbed and the cbi is adding to their reserve for a near future date. imo go rv
