The whole argument of when we receive the Holy Spirit has both intrigued me and baffled me. I have never experience a so called baptism of the Holy Spirit but I did experience a life changing salvation moment with Jesus Christ. I was 32 when that happened and it changed me completely! I still fight the old man at times as I did when replying to someone a bit ago on another thread..... Now of course I feel remorse..... But anyway.... I just did a study of 1 John and it touched me in its teaching...... My Christian faith should always be about love!!! I must love..... I fail at times but I am so much better at it now than I was 13 years ago. As for the Holy Spirit..... I know I have him as evidenced by his discernment when reading scripture or when talking to someone and he gives me things to say that I had no idea to say and so on..... I know he works in me, through me and around me...... That's good enough for me!

theiexpat........ I understand your premise and wish that was the system we lived in but it's not so the question is, how to have as much freedom as possible within the constraints of the system. The texas Cali analogy is simply as this.... I have the freedom to spend more of my money here then they do there..... State tax, property tax, business tax etc.... I lived there by the way, my dad was stationed in Oxnard for several years and I lived in Ventura as an adult myself and I know the differences. Do you know who is the biggest contributor to population growth in Texas over the past several years..... California!! But I digress...... A truly wise man does both..... Prepare for what may come. The problem with doing that is since it hasn't happened yet, who knows what to prepare for?!?!? My line of thinking is this..... follow what our political leaders are doing and have done and then compare it historically to what someone else did. Look at the outcome of that situation and then prepare for it!!! I'm looking at Greece, Italy, Spain and others for recent history and I think that is the better of the worst case possibilities.... Then look at Russia, Germany, China, Cambodia and so on and see what correlation there is there and prepare for that outcome. The whole time your doing this, work diligently to avert these possibilities by effecting change where you are and hope for the best!!!!!

Here's what I do know and have found true in research..... There are numerous Dem's in high ranking positions who have openly stated that they desire America to be a gun fee zone everywhere!!! I'm gonna take them at their word that this is their desire...... The amount of what they purchased does not bother me. The type of ammo they purchased does. No one who target shoots uses the best ammo to do so. Total waste of money. For 10 years following the removal of Saddam from Kuwait, the US, along with numerous other partner countries tried to negotiate with Saddam. His answer was to constantly thumb his nose at negotiations, sanctions and so forth. In those 10 years, he ordered the shooting down of numerous UN jets in the no fly zone, harbored terrorist and committed atrocities against his countrymen..... I would think that 10 years of negotiations was enough. At some point, someone had to take down the evil dictator. Please don't fail to remember that the US was not the only country involved in doing so. Canada, England, Germany etc. all plaid a part. It was not just "BUSH'S WAR"!!! Careful Hame..... Your falling into the trap of generalizing the opposition. That same trap that Tony screamed against! Do you know who armed most of those guys...... Yup.. The good ole USA!
