Buzz del.icio.us Related Articles Obama to Address US on Iraq Transition Tuesday Marks Formal End of US Combat Mission in Iraq Iraqi PM Issues High Security Alert Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki says his country's security forces are ready to assume full responsibility of keeping Iraq and its citizens safe. In a nationally televised speech, Mr. Maliki said Iraq is a "sovereign and independent" state. He commented Tuesday, as U.S. President Barack Obama prepares to mark the end of U.S. combat operations in the country, seven years after the U.S.-led invasion. Mr. Obama is flying to an army post in Fort Bliss, Texas, Tuesday, to meet with soldiers who deployed to Iraq during the mission. He will then return to Washington to deliver a nationally broadcast speech from the White House to discuss the end of the combat phase and the new advisory and training role for the U.S. military. U.S. Vice President Joe Biden is in Iraq for talks with Iraqi leaders. He will preside over a formal change-of-command ceremony Wednesday, to mark the start of "Operation New Dawn." The U.S. mission in Iraq has claimed the lives of more than 4,400 U.S. troops. More than 100,000 Iraqi civilians have died in the conflict. Just under 50,000 U.S. troops remain in Iraq, down from a peak of nearly 170,000 at the height of the 2007 military surge. American forces will no longer be allowed to go on combat missions unless requested and accompanied by Iraqi forces. President Obama has pledged to remove all U.S. forces from Iraq by the end of 2011. Tuesday's milestone comes as Iraq faces a period of political deadlock over forming the country's next government, the result of inconclusive general elections six months ago. Iraq is on high alert for attacks by insurgents after a series of bombings killed dozens of people and underscored the fragility of Iraq's recent security gains So does political dead lock still mean....."SAME OL SAME OL

  11. I know that most of you are like me. Sitting here looking at the clock going, "Dam its midnight in Baghdad and not a word What the heck". I to wonder all of the time, "is this really going to happen?" I do think its going to happen and I have never invested more than I can afford to lose. I have the Biggest dreams of all according to my wife. Just hang in there everyone. Were getting close, we are getting real close. I have no source, just intuition. This fact is what makes me believe more than anything. The government better form pretty quick or that place could go to hell in a hand bag real fast!. I pray for everyone here that this happens and I pray more for the people in IRAQ that need it the most. Good luck sleeping tonight. OUT
  12. Does anyone have any info on what in the world Biden is doing over there. I would have figured that there would have been some kind of a photo op with M or A today. It late in the afternoon over there!!!!!!!! Any thoughts
  13. I was about to say it's 9:45 am Baton Rouge time tht means 5:45pm Baghdad time. We should have heard something by now. I got my fingers crossed, my legs crossed, my toes crossed, my wires crossed, and definately my eyes crossed from looking at this computer for the last month. Go RV
  14. I love your screen name! BWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaa
  15. Here is the article that I just pulled up. Sorry to bust everyones bubble. Tuesday is going to come and go just like another day. DON'T BUILD YOUR HOPES UP FOR TUESDAY! Obama is just going to say "I told you I would pull out the troops and I did! Now the are headed to Afganistan and they will be out of afganistan by ______ Date. It is time for the people of Iraq to stand up and form a government and lead themselves on to prosperiety". For everyone that keeps saying its done. GRILL your contact for information rather than just let them off the phone. If they say its done ask them for hard evidence! I feel so sorry for the people of Iraq. They can't get their leaders together. what a bad place that must be. The little things we take for granitid. Jourani criticizes IS adherence to PM post 28/08/2010 14:56:00 Baghdad (NINA) –Member of the State of Law’s Coalition Haider al-Jourani criticized the Iraqiya Slate for adhering to the Premier post, saying “It blew up all slogans it carried during the electoral campaign for the sake of winning this post.” In a statement to the National Iraqi news Agency, he said “The IS rejected all presented suggestions based on patriotic project and representing demands of the Iraqis.” “We are astonished to realize that the Iraqiya’s interest in forming the government is above voters’ interests,” he added. “All the statements and slogans adopted by the Iraqiya’s members have been neglected in return to the PM post,” he stressed, calling the IS to “Seek executing its programs rather than adhering to its demands.” The IS rejected a document presented by the SLC over forming government and claimed right of forming the government according to electoral and constitutional merits as the winning slate in elections with 91 seats. The SLC won 89 seats and adopts the explanation of the federal court which gave the right for the National Coalition, formed by alliance of the Iraqi National Alliance and the SLC, to form government. The country witnessed political activities among the four blocs winning elections over forming government since approving the elections results by the Federal Court on June 1st, but these blocs did not succeed to reach a settlement due to disputes related to which bloc is authorized to form the government. /End/ I wish you all the best GO RV
  16. If the Iraqi's are celebrating the new rate did he say what the rate was?
  17. It is so sad to see this going on for the Iraqi people. Dont get me wrong I want it for the RV but man at some point you would think that the Iraqi people would all rise up and agree to respect one another and get on with rebuilding their country. I feel like I am watching big brother and every eppisode someone gets voted out.
  18. Don't Kill the messenger Qado: American pressure did not get results toward forming government 27/08/2010 11:36:00 Baghdad (NINA) – Secretary General of the Shabak Democratic Gathering, Haneen al-Qado, said, “American pressure toward forming a government were fruitless and are mere wishes.” He told NINA on Friday, Aug. 27, “The Americans wanted the State of Law and Iraqiya get close, but this is not within the American’s to achieve, because each of the two holds to getting the Prime Minister’s post, therefore American pressure did not achieve a thing.” He added, “American is worried over the delay in forming a government, it tried to impose a government on the Iraqis, but it could not.” Qado pointed out that though talks continue between various blocs, yet they are not serious. American delegations came to Iraq in attempts to pressure political forces to speed up forming a government; they wanted an alliance be formed between State of Law, lead by Nuri al-Maliki, and Iraqiya, led by Iyad Allawi, but could not make a headway in this attempt. / End.
  19. No prob barkie, its like someone said in a previous post. its like a new date come up every 2-3 months or event. So, what happens if tuesday come and goes and no RV. Than eveyone will build hope and say that so and so originally predicted end of September so it has to be end of September. And then the build up of the end of September. Thats why I am saying our time line needs to be events not ficticious conference calls based on B.S. rumors from "someone high up"
  20. wmawhite. you said in your post EVERYTHING is in place. Tell me then everything that is in place! Is it Allawi or Malikki? Nobody can even answer that!! If everything is in place then what are they waiting on, Shabibi to go to jackson hole to get approval? Come on now, lets make some common sense. If everything is in place like you said what are we waiting for? and WHY?
  21. Maynard I am with ya I have always believed in a time line of events that need to happen rather than dates. you lost me in the end though when you say, "scotter did point out in a chat the idea of the RV going forward on schedule". What is the schedule? That is the question, what is the schedule scooter? thats what we need to be asking on all of these conference calls, and any chance we can ask "someone with intel" or "someone High up"
  22. Great you saw the head of the CBI in Jackson hole! Answer this. What did he say regarding the RV? What did he say regarding the GOI? Great Shabibi was there WHAT DID HE SAY? Everyone says he was there, surely he said SOMETHING. So, what did he say? answer that. I truley believe in this investment, I do believe that it is coming to an end but give us some facts. Thats all I am asking for. WHAT DID SHABIBI say? Uncle Barkie, how did I bash Obama. All I am pointing out is WHAT his speach is going to be about (US pulling out of Iraq) and WHY would the Iraqi people let him, a westerner steal the thunder of the Biggest event in Iraq's History? I believe in this investment. I hold a bunch of dinar and want this more than anyone. How did I bash Obama?
  23. I got abad feeling that "it" is not a done deal in Iraqi. If it is we would see more news leaking. It would be really obvious. Sorry gang. This is the biggest event that has EVER happened in Iraqi. Why would this be a secret? For Obama to look good?????? Obama on Tuesday is just going to talk about the shift in war from Iraqi to Afganistan. He is going to say Iraqi's security is strong enough to protect itself. And he is also going to say "I TOLD YA SO!" I told you by the end of August we would draw it down and we did. My reasoning for this is this....If the Primeminister were seated and the presidents from all of the political blocks were "in place" (as many people are saying) than why do we have to dig so deep to get information? Why is it a secret? Why would Iraqi want to wait on OBAMA (western world) to make the announcement? All of these "sources" need to give explicit details other than "ITS DONE!".. It's done trust me and you will llike the rate.... Sorry pal ain't buying it. Give me some dates or give me a credible event that is going to happen other than the RV so I can see if you know what you are talking about. Not to be bearer of bad news just am tired of my source says this my source says that. ask your source for a credible event that is going to take place! They cant. I want it more than anyone but we have to keep it real. I wish you all the best and god bless you all. GO RV!
  24. I mean I am running numbers, From a $1.17 RV to a $3.38 RV. What I would give to the church, New house, new car, what a 5.00% IRA would earn etc etc etc. It has more than consumed me. What do you all think.
