  1. lol, yeah I forgot I am supposed to have a link. happy New Year everyone...just read another post declaring it will RV Monday, hope so...but been reading that for months. We ARE close, but it just didn't happen in 2010, soon though.
  2. I know I'm posting this in the rumor section, but I have it from a solid clad source that the RV will NOT happen in 2010. All the speculation and such, thought I should share.
  3. What if God was one of us? I would be shocked considering thee level of bashing that goes on around here.
  4. OK, really? This is ridiculous. Here is my take...I believe the bank employees here who tell us that this kind of "event" would only be known about at the highest levels. I also believe that if the "event " were on the horizon, at some point the bank employees would be alerted to SOMETHING. It would be within days and not weeks of this "event". This "event" is the RV of course. here is what is crystal clear, to me anyway. Just like any financial consultant, investment banker, etc....they are bound to not advise you on investment strategies. they cannot tell you whether this is a good stock or bad stock to invest in, they are simply not allowed to do this. It seems plausible to me that any bank employee at any given branch would fall under the same guidelines. Also, the letter from BOA Foreign Currency dept is so canned, it's obvious that they will not open themselves legally to anyone's claim that they invested in the dinar and lost thousands because some ****** at BOA said it was a investment they supported or a currency they eventually had plans to exchange. Right no it is so clear this is going to happen, but don't forget about the legal side of this. Legally, these banks are doing what their attorneys are telling them to do in case the worst can happen and some employee tell a customer to come back Monday and that customer invests too much and files a claim against that bank. I'm not a financial or legal professional, but logic tells me this is true. Everyone is acting like the dinar investment is a scam now, but the elephant is in the room and let me ask you this. Let's say you visit BOA and "Bill" the bank manager tells you that the exchange is happening Monday. What if "Bill" buys 10 million on Thursday and cashes in on Monday, isn't that going to be a problem for the securities and exchange commission much like insider trading? I agree that a friend of a friend or some such might leak something, but let's respect their privacy. The implications of any of these employees telling us anything is quite interesting, but I expect them to protect themselves and stay hush.
  5. This is not just Pilgrim who thinks this way, it's like a kid who is looking forward to a snow day so he doesn't have to go to school...then gets angry wwith the weatherman who predicted that the rain would come first and change over to ice, but it was the other way around...or somesuch. There are so many variables and I would suggest that everyone on this site outside of the Iraqi government and CBI just relax and watch this unfold....because you don't know how this will unfold. Who cares if there are pumpers, I think they amuse more of us than they convince the others, but they are obviously out there. I take Pilgrim's point as well taken, he's just reminding all of us that we need to slow down and it WILL happen, but don't go nuts when the Chapter 7 gets lifted and there's not an RV within 20 minutes. If you were flipping off your boss yesterday because you believe the RV would happen today as soon as the Chapter 7 was lifted, well...you might be Possum. It will be days or weeks before the effects of today's business are effective and in place. That's my opinion.
  6. Why? I can not imagine that our VP is chairing a special high level Iraq session at the UN and they have voted to remove sanctions that have been in place on Iraq for 20 years, and not even worthy of a breaking news headline or the like? Does that tell you that this is being downplayed or is it too early for them to pull together a story with content?
  7. The teller at my bank can't even pronounce dinar. Nuff said.
  8. USD IQD 1258.65633 Dollars to Iraqi Dinar wow, that's something
  9. Thanks for the links, awesome!
  10. I liked the honesty of this post enough to post my thoughts, so here goes. The #1 skepticism of this investment has to be that old cliche "If it seems to good to be true, then..." Think about that. If you are like me and have no interest in MLM and that sort of "pie in the sky" promises, this AT LEAST is real currency used by a country that is really trying to establish power in the world with the majority of the oil in the world to guarantee their debts! Before I invested on dollar in the Dinar, I had to decide whether or not I thought this currency would ever be worth anything. The simple answer to that question is yes, it has to be. It may not be today or next month or even next year, but if I have to wait 10 years for it to return to the value of 10 years ago, show me another investment that even has the capability of that kind of return. I can retire early and pay for my kid's college education on a small investment. Looked at another, what is there to lose? If I can afford to lose $3000 on an investment that has the potential of returning ridiculous yield like that, I would be the fool for not investing...so I did. On to the next....think about Mark Cuban, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Trump, etc. How many of their decisions do you think were speculated as risky and ridiculous by others who were too scared to spend their own money on their own ideas?? Case and point. I was in the IT business for years, and once worked with a guy who broke down his portfolio for me. It was 2002. in 1994 he owned a lot of stock in Microsoft, Oracle, Chevron, etc....stocks that he bought cheap. We went to yahoo and printed off the performance chart of each and on the whiteboard calculated each stock split and value since. With the stock he owned and had sold, he would have been a multimillionaire had he not been scared and listened to the skeptics and sold out. That's why he was working on a $55k salary like me...think about that. No risk taker ever listens to skeptics and if they do, they usually end up wishing they hadn't. I have shared the dinar opportunity with close friends, only once per friend, and I will never ask them to consider it again. I did in the first place so that when I have wealth they do not ask me why I didn't share the information. It's a win win I guess, if it busts I am out $3k and I can live with that and nobody will shame me for it. If it hits, and it has to, then they will wish they had listened.. No big deal, I know it will happen and truthfully...I think it will happen in waves. In other words, the initial RV will be a fraction of what it will become over time. I likely will not be cashing in everything unless there is a time period to exchange what you have or else what is left is worthless. If the currency doesn't change, I will hold some for down the road when it is worth even more. I don't pretend to know how this all works, but I also know that nobody out there can tell you how and when it will happen. Keep the faith and KNOW that it WILL happen, even though nobody can predict when. Again, if you are invested beyond your comfort zone you might consider selling back what you need to in order to pay bills. But if you are not investing what you can afford to lose now...I think you will regret not doing so. IMO, this thing will happen within the next 6 months...but that's what they have been saying for years. At least now, we see real things happening things being put into place (contracts) that cannot happen unless an RV is around the corner. Thanks for listening and thanks for this site! wetgravity
  11. Parliament’s Thursday session to initiate Iraqi State’s establishment - PM November 10, 2010 - 01:48:31 BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq’s Prime Minister and Leader of the State of Law Alliance, Nouri al-Maliki, has said on Wednesday that the Parliament’s session, scheduled to be held on Thursday, shall be “decisive,” and a beginning for the establishment of the Iraqi State, not only the formation of the new government. “The Parliament’s session shall be the last station for the course of steadfastness and persistence, and we shall not allow for the course of trouble-makers to revive once again, and to confiscate all the achievements that have been accomplished with the bloods shed by our martyrs,” Maliki said in a speech at the meeting of the General Commission for Iraq’s National Coalition, and attended by Aswat al-Iraq News Agency. “We are here to express one voice and one decision; tomorrow, Thursday, shall witness the beginning of the establishment of the Iraqi State and not the formation of the government, that shall be established on basis that we have overcome a last part of,” Maliki added. The Iraqi Prime Minister admitted that “there are still many loopholes, but we must join together and bear responsibility, in order to prove that tomorrow, Thursday, shall clearly reflect our unity. Our current meeting including men and women, intends to continue the steadfastness, being the last bullet we shall fire on trouble-makers.” Maliki has called on “the others to contribute with him in his viewpoint, but the important thing is ‘who shall lay the first brick in the true base?..We hope it shall be us, as we have already achieved goals in the Iraqi sovereignty, hoping to reach the complete sovereignty.” “There are a lot of specifications that we must bear in mind, among them the challenge, taking into consideration that he who would not have patience would be defeated. We have to join patience with unity, that would give us a strong foundation. If we don’t understand the problem, we shall make wrong decisions and positions, and we have to consult each other to achieve steadfastness,” Maliki said. The Iraqi Prime Minister called for “the building of Iraq, which won’t be built by us alone, but we must invite others with nice feelings, because all Iraqis must cooperate to build their homeland and to participate in taking a decision, without alleging to have one foot in the government and another in the opposition.” http://en.aswataliraq.info/?p=138809 Before I get bashed, I understand it says tomorrow is only the beginning, but it's a step in the right direction! It's actually making news now.
  12. I bought most of mine in the spring because I heard that it would RV in a week! I guess this goes on year round until seomthing actually does happen...I suggest if you are over invested you should relax, but I'm invested as much as I want to be and will wait until it happens.
  13. The point is, smart people with money use other people's money to buy things that depreciate because it's uncertain to what extent that asset will depreciate. If you know something will appreciate, why would you not invest in it, but pay cash for something you know will?
  14. This coming from a guy that thinks it is smart to pay cash for a car....really?! A car will surely depreciate, how could the dniar be worth anything less? It will be worth something someday, hopefully sooner than later.
  15. This is a perfect example of the WTF? factor I get reading some of the posts in this forum....the decoder ring is always missing. It's like trying to decipher a Nostradamus quatrain...ridiculous. HA!
  16. Hey, I heard there was a bank VP on the Dinar Rumor forum.....if bank executives are watching the rumor forum, that MUST mean there is an RV coming! Ha! So in a way, we are back to square one
  17. By the way, I see lot of links to other sites...check out the post by ronscarpa on the iraq news board...people want to know the source of information here, no?
  18. Thanks for the info barbann, must be why mine got deleted regarding thee dollar increase at CBI today. If you post this info without a link you will get bashed for not posting the link for reference. oh well. For those who didn't read it, there a link about a large increase in the sales of the dollar at CBI today....happy hunting. Oh, and I don't misunderstand that it is policy, so please don't ban me now....or issue me a demerit.
  19. CBI dollar sales up to $176m April 27, 2010 - 12:36:17 BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Central Bank of Iraq’s (CBI) dollar sales went up to $176.200 million in its daily auction on Tuesday, compared to $133.840 in the previous session. “The demand hits $2.180 million in cash, covered at an exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars per dollar, and $174.020 million in foreign transfers outside the country, covered at an exchange rate of 1,173 Iraqi dinars per dollar,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency. None of the 13 banks that participated in today’s session offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. MH (P)/SR http://en.aswataliraq.info/?p=130848 Can anyone explain what this means? When the dollar sales are up or down...
  20. I've seen some people already complaining...but I think it looks and feels much better...what do you think?
  21. awesome, chapter 1 of a poorly thought out fiction novel.
  22. I got a visit yesterday from a friend on the ground in Iraq, on his way to his last tour over there. He was telling me that this would be his last tour as the military has told them after this 6 month tour they would be conducting an operation called "hands across Iraq" where the military sweeps the country and removes the "trash" left behind by the US forces, completely handing over control to the Iraqi government. Before the bashing commences, he is 19, in the Army and in a mortar artillery regiment. So this is just a rumor....but it sounds like Iraq is about to be on their own.
  23. No, that's a good idea and thanks for the advice. I will search for an article before I post it next time, thanks!
