  1. Many people are greedy with themselves, their space, time and resources. The mentality that does not lend itself to the consideration of others is driven by a spirit of greed. An inconsiderate, selfish spirited person is a greedy person, in my opinion. I see it in people often. Every time someone cuts another off in traffic or walks through a door and lets go of it without considering anyone behind them, every time someone cuts a line because they are too important in their own mind to be considerate of others, an all for me, my four and no more attitude... This, to me, is greed-driven behavior.
  2. Thanks to all my brother and sister vets. I will participate to my greatest ability. Francie, +1 from me too. Thanks for taking time to get the info into capable hands.
  3. Yes. There have, truly, been MANY "unwarranted" and "childish remarks" made by some on this site. I for one have allowed my passion to urge me head-long into a few ridiculously foolish exchanges. That said, however, it has been my experience that the promoters (and would-be promoters) of "tolerance" and "diversity" are the "Our way or the highway" crowd. Those persons tend to be tolerant to the extent that everyone agrees with their take on a given topic. If you mean that we (the intolerant) are supposed to see everyone else's viewpoint as valid, meaningful and/or correct in a different sort of way (which, by the way, again has been my experience with the "tolerant") then I disagree with you. Of course, we are all entitled to our own opinions. No matter how ridiculous they are. We cannot all be correct any more than everyone on the freeway can be first in the rush to get somewhere. If one refuses to stand for something, well... hopefully you know the rest of the concept.
  4. Oh yeah, I know. I intended that in a rhetorical way. That's why I gave a plug to Walton & Johnson, called you a ten percenter and acknowledged Houston... I'm working in Deer Park right now. I love how predictably unpredictable those two are. I'm also a ten percenter.
  5. The scarier thing is the number of people who refuse to wake up to the truth of these hateful people who push their hate-filled message... I say, America has the largest standing army of armed citizens in the world. If this cat really wants to fight house to house on our soil, oookaaaay... Sucks to be you. PS For all you gun control advocates: the aforementioned "army" does NOT apply to you. It will break my heart to stand aside while you wait for the arrival of the over-worked and under-paid police, but I know these are your wishes. I'll just have to accept that. Sucks to be you too... Cut and Shoot? I know you're a ten percenter... I love WJ! Houston ROCKS!
  6. The bottle is on me, and of course I will need help with it. It's a toast, and you are welcome to share. Anyone else want some?
  7. That's funny, but it's too late for turkey hunting. It's deer season now. I did enjoy the CB Christmas clip. My favorite of all the Charlie Brown seasonal clips is the Thanksgiving episode where Snoopy and the lawn chair tangle up in a good ol' fashioned butt kickin'. I've never figured out what Snoopy said, but I know he meant it.
  8. I don't drink any more... I don't drink any less either.
  9. That has been sent to me via email a couple of times and it is equally fascinating each time I see it. Incredible...
  10. Impressive... I hope you don't keel over with a heart attack either. Have you ever tried the Gentleman Jack? Not too much difference in price, but waaay smoother.
  11. Since you love beer, please allow me to recomend a wonderful dark beer from a little town in Texas... Shiner, Texas. Have a Shiner Bock and a smile...
  12. You know what really burns me? Man, I went to Macy's the other day because they had a coffee pot I wanted (on sale) and they already had Christmas decorations out. Now I'm not a big Halloween guy at all, and I know this is not new, It's been going on for years, but this one day it really stuck in my craw. HEY! I want Halloween back and all the rest of the traditional AMERICAN hollidays. I used to look forward to the fall decorations and the pumkins and things that go with the Thanksgiving season. What the heck is wrong with us that we gave marketers a pass on slip-stickin' Thanksgiving? It always means something to me to spend time with the family on Thanksgiving and now it's difficult to find Thanksgiving decorations in the midst of all the colorful kid grabbers they put out... SHEEESH! I really am actually torqued about it this year...
  13. Now you're crackin' me up again... The best laugh of the day. Boots in the closet... LOL!
  14. Francie... You just did... You expressed yourself in a very pointed and concise way. You said it in far fewer words than I would have. SO, who actually has mental agility? You. I think. BTW, Thank you. Pureau79
  15. one glass of Louis XIV Cognac so I will know the foolishness of having a $50.00 shot of liquor just once in my lifetime...
  16. Yeah... Well... The United States Navy's commercial pushing them as "a global force" is right up there with his seal. Neither is actually acurate. Hey, I appreciate the words of encouragement. Smee2 and I once thought we could be friends and had some very civil dialogue, but she is repressing some deeply seated feelings and as of late it has come out in tones of bitterness. It is sad because she has a very kind heart, but as with most kind-hearted people there is a defense mechanism, which sometimes engages in ways it is difficult to be patient with. I did not intend to scathe her, but I too am tenderhearted and tend to overplay my hand occasionally... Therefore, I would agree that Smee2's usual posts are very provocative and wise and it pained me to come at her as I did, but I am an American FIRST. I am extremely proud that my family was among the very early settlers of the new world and there was an intermingling with the indigenous natives. That's redundant, isn't it? Therefore, I am descended from the first firsts. I will be an American the day my body is only an empty shell and I will eat the friut of a land flowing with milk and honey. America the beautiful is my love and I shall not abandon her in the hour of need. Anyway, It is disheartening to see the blind ones drawn to the cliffs edge. Especially as I have the knowledge that certain destruction awaits if a course change is not effected. If our people will humble themselves and turn to providence for guidance, it is not too late to change how destiny comes. I wonder, however, if we few will be effective enough. It will require great strength and intestinal fortitude. The deceiver has been very busy. The deceived have been very willing... My daily prayer to my creator is: (Please forgive me y'all. I don't wish to make this into a religious sermon, but I cannot separate my belief and conviction. They are one...) Lord, may your mercy and grace be upon me all the days of my life, that my heart does not grow faint, nor my eyes dim. May wisdom and discretion be upon my lips and life in my words. Amen. Peace. Thank you kindly.
  17. Thank you Sis. I really appreciate the kind words. Have an awesome weekend with the family.
  18. AND... You said or but I would have said and. Have a beer and...
  19. Think about how boring it would be if we didn't have something ridiculous to read once in a while... I agree with some of the other members. We are adults, free, reasonably intelligent, and able to sort fact from fiction for ourselves. Don't let your disappointment in the process make you bitter... It's all useful. Even the crapola. Yes you do... See, you're just confused about Jack. Not Jack Squat, he's the cousin of Jack Schitt, son of Noe Schitt and Giva Schitt. He has a sister name Hava and a brother named Whatalodeuv. Are you cleared up yet?
  20. Thank you for your kindness. I believe I saw that movie, but will take a refresher look just in case...
  21. DIp the brush into the paint and apply it to the wall with even strokes... Dip Stroke Dip Stroke You can do it and before you know it Christmas will be here and your walls will be beautiful!
  22. And I wouldn't have it any other way. I've enjoyed meeting new friends and being "bad" with y'all. I appreciate all the "piggy points". I'm happier than a pig in poop. Thanks for the laughs. LOL!
  23. That one makes me cry each time I see it... Praise God for America and her brave warriors. All hail the KING and step aside for the brave protectors of our freedoms. No other country has so willingly sacrificed it's defenders for the cause of freedom. May we never forget. May we never dishonor them.
  24. I disagree. I don't think anyone here has lost sight of the reason Adam reset the counter. This has all been in good fun among new friends. The reputation thing was flawed from the outset and everyone knows that. There are people on this site that go around neg'ing certain folks they don't like (like kids on a playground) just because they can, without ever giving thought to what the poster was really saying, and most of the people with really high reps got there because people were conversely too liberal with their plus's. I had a rep of about 10 for the first six or seven months I was a part of this site and not for lack of sharing my thoughts. I am the same all the time and do not make comments for points, but have very much enjoyed playing with my new friends. So, if Adam wants to reset the reps again it is his perogative to do so. Have at it. Those reputations won't mean much after the RV anyway.
