I bring you much news today.   
 
On April 3rd the IBBC Spring Conference called: ‘Iraq: Rising Confidence’ will be held at Mansion House, London.
 
So what will be presented in this conference?

Shanker Singham, chair of the Special Trade Commission for the Legatum Institute and CEO of Competere will be joining IBBC’s finance panel. Mr Singham has worked with governments and companies around the world on market opening and transition issues.
 
The chairman is soliciting companies to register for the conference. The agenda is advertised with many keynote speakers. It is a very impressive agenda and is all geared towards post -Daesh Iraq and attracting investors into Iraq. This is all very good news and demonstrates they hope the economy will take off like a rocket post ISIS.

 

As you may have already heard that Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi is preparing to start an official visit to Washington DC, as invited by the newly elected president Trump.This visit may be pivotal in determining the volume of cooperation and the kind of relationship with the new American administration, especially in resolving the battle of Mosul against the “Islamic State Daesh and the upcoming elections in Iraq and the future of the political process in Iraq. 
 
Abadi’s office announced the official date for the start of the visit is Sunday 3/19. (What do you think they will be talking about? Of course Abadi will want more money to fight ISIS and US support on the ground, but I also think he will add a caution for the USA to leave his country when the effort is over. NO- this meeting is not about the RV!)

He confirmed the commander of Nineveh operations Najim al-Jubouri, Saturday, that the majority of the elements of criminal "Daesh" surrendered existing military positions in the right coast (western half) of the city of Mosul. (So this should mean progress is going faster than anticipated? We may see final victory sooner? On the surface it seems like great news…but….watch in the next couple days they will tell us they are bogged down again and delayed again…lol…lol..Why?)
 
Jubouri said in a press statement, "The security forces are advancing large areas across the right areas of the coast of the city of Mosul," noting that "edit the right side of the territory under the control of criminal will be easier compared to the liberated areas in advance." (Really? You keep telling us this yet we see no real progress and weeks pass by)
 
He added that "the majority of the elements of" Daesh "infidels surrendered themselves to security forces stationed there because of the escape of most of the Pied Piper" Daesh "on the one hand the great military and progress of the Iraqi army on the other hand."
 
Jubouri pointed out that "the leadership of the joint operations postponed during the past few days thousands of families besieged by criminals" Daesh "after its liberation from the control of terrorists there." (I believe this is the mistake they keep making. This always seems to give Daesh time to regroup and rethink their strategy everytime they have the advantage. Then when the Iraq forces more forward, they are met with heavy resistance. Watch and see that it plays out this way again.)


Defense: trapping Daesh the last stronghold west of Mosul
 
Baghdad} Euphrates News spokesman Joint Special Operations Command, Brigadier General Yahya Messenger said, that Daesh terrorist gangs, have become completely blocked from all sides in the western part of the city of Mosul, the last big stronghold in the country. (optimistic this could be over with by EARLY April)
 
He said al - Zubeidi, in a press statement, said that " the Iraqi army message to terrorists Daesh are: either surrender and receive a fair trial, or death , " he said . "Daesh besieged from all sides in the remaining districts of the right coast {west} of the connector, there are targeting for terrorists and the headquarters and leaders Daesh terrorist. " 

He pointed out that "Daesh distracted in front of our progress, but still has the ability to maneuver through some bombs , wheels and indirect fire." 

He pointed out that " the full liberation of Mosul a matter of time," adding , "defeat terrorist Daesh from the right coast." 

He praised al - Zubaidi , the "cooperation of citizens with the troops to get the information on the organization , " stressing that this information "contributed significantly to the targeting and arresting a large number of them , " pointing out that "more than 90 percent of those who are fighting in the ranks of Daesh in Mosul Arab and foreign nationalities "
 

Iraq, US offer differing accounts of Mosul progress
(Well, well now this article does not surprise me one bit…lol..lol)
 
MOSUL: Iraqi and US commanders offered conflicting accounts Thursday of progress in western Mosul, where US-backed Iraqi forces have been battling the Daesh group for nearly a month as they try to retake the remainder of the city.

Maj. Gen. Joseph Martin, the American commander of coalition ground forces in Iraq, said the troops had recaptured “a little over a third” of neighborhoods west of the Tigris River, while Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasool, an Iraqi military spokesman, said they had retaken up to 60 percent, with fighting still underway. Iraq declared eastern Mosul “fully liberated” in January. (Why did you wait a month to let ISIS dig in more on the western half before moving in to that section? I did not print the rest of the article as it just rehashes over and over again what we already know.)

So let’s therefore keep our eyes open for articles about progressing forward once again with the “project to delete the zeros”. We know this will be tied to an significant increase in the value of the currency someway. Note I did not say that the project to delete the zeroes comes first, second or last to the RV. What I did just say is WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEWS AND ARTICLES ON THIS TOPIC of the continuing of this project for this will lead us to the RV. Yes- the RV could happen before, after or during the process but we are looking for a sign that it is all very near. The re-education of the citizens on this process will be in the news. Get it all you so called intel gurus? So please stop putting words in my mouth about what comes first or last, who said this or that. Who cares at this point? All we want is a sign from the CBI and some good news. Either way the end result is the same (an RV).)

They just told us last week we are looking at an EARLY April timeframe for liberation from ISIS.)

Maliki’s wealth estimated at $40 bln: sources
 
Iraqi former PM Nouri al-Maliki’s wealth is estimated at $40 billion, informed sources told The Baghdad Post on Thursday.
 
The sources revealed the 67-year-old has made his wealth through manipulating the Iraqi Central Bank’s accounts as well as his suspicious projects inside and outside Iraq.
 
They also confirmed he took over the 2014 state budget without releasing concluding statements.
 
They added al-Maliki’s henchmen have become real estate owners after they were “barefooted in Tuwairij”, the district in Karbala where he was born.

The sources also accused al-Maliki’s son-in law, Yasser Abd Skheil, of gathering millions through suspicious deals.
 
Skhel, currently a member of the Iraqi parliament, exploited his ties with al-Maliki, the sources said, to seize state-owned lands.
 
Al-Maliki left his post as the house speaker in 2014 (NO! – his position was not house speaker but prime minister, so the news media can’t seem to get it right, a perfect example of bad reporting), the same year in which he was elected (NO! -not elected to VP position but given the position as a negotiated concession for freely giving up the prime minister, something that he could not hold on to anyhow and was not legal) one of three vice-presidents.
 
(I also want to note something. Hhave you noticed how the opposition is slowly exposing al-Maliki and his goons. I firmly believe they are going to prosecute him as soon as ISIS is liberated from Mosul region. All the signs are there.)
 

Deputy: increase the presence of U.S. troops is part of an Alliance Baghdad and Washington

Reuters: U.S. base rises from the rubble for Mosul push

U.S. troops are hard at work rehabilitating this battle-scarred, rubble-strewn airfield as a logistics and support hub for Iraqi and international forces in the decisive battle against Islamic State for the city of Mosul 60 km to the north.

The whirl of activity and the return of American soldiers signify a new U.S. build-up in Iraq 14 years on from the invasion that set off a conflict which has undergone various permutations.  
 
But senior officers insist this mission is limited and temporary. The stated goal is to annihilate Islamic State and to help the Iraqi army.

"They are a sovereign nation and they've allowed us to come and advise them. We want to get rid of the bad guys. We are all moving toward the same objective," said Lieutenant Colonel Elizabeth Curtis of the 82nd Airborne support battalion.
 
Nine months ago, Islamic State still held Qayyara West. The hardline militants had seized it from the Iraqi army in 2014 and destroyed the place, demolishing buildings and breaking up the runway with jackhammers.

A resurgent Iraqi army recaptured it last July and soldiers from the U.S. 101st Airborne Division were deployed here in October as the offensive to recapture Mosul, Islamic State's last stronghold in the country, got underway. The 82nd Airborne took over at Q-West, as the base is known, in December.

 

About 1,000 personnel, mostly Americans but including other members of the international coalition, are based at Q-West out of a total of about 1,700 in the area of the Mosul operation, base commander Lieutenant Colonel Sebastian Pastor said. 
 
Designated in military parlance as an Intermediate Staging Base, it provides support and logistics for several Tactical Assembly Areas closer to the battlefront. U.S. advisors are out on the field but Q-West also has an offensive role -– a rocket battery is stationed here and regularly fires missiles at IS positions in western Mosul, and an air cavalry troop flies its helicopters in support of Iraqi forces on the ground.

The place has a post-apocalypse look to it. Piles of rubble from destroyed buildings dot the landscape. Concrete blast walls surround the perimeter and snake through the inside. Containers and pallets of supplies are piled everywhere and fleets of armored vehicles and bulldozers are parked in rows.
 
The soldiers sleep in small concrete bunkers under tenting. A toppled water tower has become a landmark. In recent days, heavy rains had turned the ground into a sea of mud.
 
It is a far cry from when it was a major U.S. base at the height of the occupation, with a golf-driving range and a swimming pool, and was dubbed Key West after the Florida holiday island.
 
"It's going to get bigger but it's not going to get nicer," said battalion planner Captain Anne Nagy, who is in charge of construction.

Nagy described the base as a giant Greyhound bus station.

"We have hundreds of people in transit and they need supplying. You have a lot of people who are basically dedicated to organizing people, food, fuel, ammunition."
 
More troops will be arriving but how many and for how long depends on the battle for Mosul and its aftermath, Nagy said.

"We are going to hand it over to the Iraqi army as this operation closes out," she said.
 
Lieutenant Colonel Curtis also stressed that the build-up did not mean the United States was committing its forces to a long and costly new era of involvement.
 
She had served in Iraq during the 2003 invasion.

"It's a different fight now. We are here to support the Iraqi government. We are here on their permission and at their request. We are not the ones doing the fighting. We are advising them."

Asked how long they might stay, she said. "Our fight right now is in west Mosul. We can't speculate on the way ahead."
 
Handing over the airfield to Iraqi control is also a principle aim, said Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Carrie Coleman, head of the 370th Air Expeditionary Advisory Group detachment.
 
The runway has been repaired and can handle giant C-130 transporters. Two or three land per day, mostly at night for security reasons. There are air traffic controllers, weather specialists and cargo teams.
 
"Our mission here is to keep the logistics moving, bringing in cargo and people. Our goal is to get the Iraqis on their feet as soon as we can," Coleman said.
