Baghdad (NINA) – A source at the Parliament unveiled that an agreement between Prime Minister, Nouri Al Maliki, and Kurdish President Masoud Barzani, provides that the Kurds vote for any candidate submitted by Maliki for the security ministries, especially Ministry of Defense.

The source, which declined to be identified, told NINA Tuesday that “in this case, Maliki can choose any candidate for the MOD, even if that candidate was not approved by Iraqiya Slate, since the Kurdish Alliance and National Alliance votes will be enough to pass him.”

The source continued “Maliki almost guaranteed some votes inside the IS for his candidate for MOD, including MPs from Parliament Speaker’s bloc and Finance Minister’s bloc.” /End/

The source who declined to be identified . . . It wouldn't surprise me if the source was Maliki himself trying to force the Iraqiya List to go along with whomever he wants.
