rocketman2010
Friday, December 10th 2010 6:33 PM Karbala, Dec.10 (AKnews) – The representative of the Shiite religious leader Sistani called, during the Friday prayer, the international society to remove Iraq from Chapter Seven of the UN sanctions against Iraq, because Iraq no longer poses a threat to the world peace, at the same time he criticized the decision of increase the number of the Iraqi ministries. Sheikh Abdel Mahdi al-Karbalai said that the UN Security Council will convene in Dec.15 a meeting to decide whether to keep or remove Iraq from the Chapter Seven; calling the international community to claim the need to remove Iraq from it. He explained that Iraq no longer poses a threat to international peace and security, particularly after the fall of the former regime, based on individual decisions. Iraq witnessed the establishment of a pluralist system of federal structure based on respect for universal peace and neighboring countries. It also has a strong parliament that represents all Iraqi people and has the authority of penalizing government in the case of making mistakes. Al Karbalai expressed hope from the neighboring countries to be by the Iraqi side in this matter, after the return of the good relationships between them and Iraq; noting that Iraq needs to achieve development and growth, thus it has to be removed from the UN Chapter Seven. On the other hand, al Karbalai criticized the act of increasing the number of the Iraqi ministries in the coming new government describing it as "wrong" because it would put pressure on the Iraqi financial budget and might put it in debts. "Most of the political blocs when entered the electoral competition was demanding the need to rationalize the Iraqi ministries and limit them to important ministries and service." Said Karbalai He explained saying that new ministries introduced for the satisfaction of the political blocs, which will lead to inflation in the number of ministries, the government will have to pay extra money and salaries for the minister, his assistances, employees and the general directors as well as other expends that will burden the budget. http://www.aknews.com/en/aknews/8/201339
