“…the process of deleting three zeros from the Iraqi currency will lead to a revaluation”

– Dr. Hilal Al-Tahan, economist

Note: An article very similar to this news story has been posted on Currency Newshound. However this particular article uses the word “revaluation” in Dr. al-Tahan’s quote. I thought it was interesting and wanted to share it with you. It is very difficult to find an article speaking of currency revaluation and iraqi dinar in the same context. Enjoy!

Delete the zeros of the Iraqi currency of the important issues of concern to economists at the present time and this made the call Central Bank Governor Sinan al-Shabibi to come to the House of Representatives at its yesterday to discuss this issue, members of Parliament have discussed with the Governor a number of economic aspects of interest to the public sphere

In addition to (deletion of zeros) of the Iraqi currency in and out, with a nominal value of cash and keep Bakimiteha purchasing. Adviser to the CBI the appearance of Mohammed Salih said: The current year will witness the launch the process of removing zeros, stressing that the bank has completed 50% of the preparations that are working on since 2005.

Hey, Dud(e) - just before you posted this thread about a L O P, J.C. is one article ahead of you indicating no L O P - what gives??????????????? If you assign points for each word, positive & negative, for L O P talk, the word POSITIVE has more point value than the word NEGATIVE (a=1, b=2, c=3 and so on) so I might suggest that J.C. has defeated Dinar Dud 59 to 35 in the 'Dinar L O P Bowl ' (Lost On Points) and the TIVE's are a draw points-wise so please put this subject matter to rest like J.C. said. Just having a little fun this Monday morning - more coffee, please!! :)

Out-dated is correct. This statement was originally made by dinar banker back in December of 2009

No offense to you J.C. - But the site that you got this from simply copied this material from an old article posted on dinar banker last year.

Recently, many rumors have been circulating about possible changes to the Iraqi Dinar One such rumor is that the Iraqi government is considering changing their national currency from the new Iraqi Dinar, which was introduced in October 2003 following the removal of Saddam Hussein from power, to an entirely different currency with new notes and denominations. Another suggests the large 25,000 dinar note will be made obsolete and unable to be exchanged. Read the full article here.
