Maliki said during a joint news conference after the meeting and attended by agency (Voices of Iraq) that "efforts did not go in vain, and today we were arranging consultations in accordance with the rule rather than exception for one," noting that his meeting with Talabani and Jaafari was "necessary and important that we have reached a stage recent consultations to form the new government in conjunction with the approach after the parliament session.
