Iraq VP:Electing Parliament Speaker imminent

National Coalition candidate for premiership Vice President Adel Abdul Mehdi announced that Parliament speaker might be elected within the coming days.

Parliament’s session on Sunday night proposed on acting speaker Foad Maasoum to convene the different parliamentary parties and elect Parliament speaker in order to enhance the Parliament’s role, Abdul Mehdi revealed.

If a parliament speaker is elected, the process of electing a President can move forward, he added.
