Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced, on Tuesday, the resumption of “Baghdad - Basra - Beijing” flights next May, after a hiatus that lasted several years.

 

The Ministry revealed, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, the date of opening a new direct line for the national carrier’s flights between Iraq and China, explaining that the fourth of next May will be the date for the first direct flight from Baghdad International Airport, passing through Basra International Airport and then to Beijing Daxing Airport. International.

 

The Ministry stated that the operational plan of the General Company for Iraqi Airlines includes expanding and diversifying the network of external destinations for the Green Bird, confirming the completion of procedures for the return of operation of this vital line between Iraq and China, which is the second of its kind after the (Kwangju) sector.

 

The Ministry's statement noted that the number of scheduled flights will be two flights per week, back from Iraq on Saturday and Tuesday, and back from Beijing on Sunday and Wednesday, in addition to the allocation of the Dreamliner aircraft, which is distinguished by its high travel luxury and is suitable for long distances. 

 

The statement quoted the Director General of Iraqi Airways, Manaf Abdel Moneim, as saying that the operating plan aims to raise the level of services and launch multiple and competitive offers, stressing the company’s keenness to implement the largest number of flights, transport passengers, and maximize financial imports.
