Fact-finding on the "green" events: No orders to break up the demonstrations

The Fact-Finding Committee on the events of the Green Zone demonstrations referred the investigation papers to the Judicial Council, and while it pointed out that the final word on the events would be given to the Council, it indicated that the Popular Mobilization Units played an important role in the calm. 

The committee stated, in a press conference followed by "Al-Sabah", that "we recorded more than 200 testimonies regarding the events in the vicinity of Al-Khadra", pointing out that "photos and surveillance cameras near the area were used."

The committee concluded facts that there were no orders regarding the dispersal of the demonstrations, in addition to the absence of any evidence or orders to burn the demonstrators' tents, explaining that "the events around the Green Zone recorded the martyrdom of two demonstrators."

The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, had ordered the formation of a higher investigation committee that included the security of the Popular Mobilization Forces to look into the events that took place in the demonstrations around the Green Zone.
