Iraqi ambassador warns of poverty crisis in Iraq

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: An Iraqi ambassador warned of poverty and hunger crisis in Iraq, which he ranks as a serious threat to the country’s future.

“Poverty, hunger, and lack of food security are serious phenomena that seriously threat Iraq’s future,” Ambassador Hassan al-Janabi said in an article as received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency on Monday.

He noted that these phenomena will have health, economic, and human effects on Iraq.

“Food security is a big, comprehensive, and complicated issue,” Ambassador al-Janabi added.

He explained that it is a big national mission to employ a number of policies, programs, and ambitious measures that deal with this crisis.
