Intelligence information led to the discovery of a "treasure" of ISIS terrorist gangs in Mosul, which were using its funds to carry out their terrorist operations. 

In a statement, the Judicial Council stated, "The Mosul Investigation Court announced that an amount of one million six hundred thousand dollars, gold and silver coins, bars and gold collectibles were found in the old area (Al-Shahwani), while one of the excavators was removing the rubble of the old area's role."

He added, "The aforementioned funds and materials were hidden in plastic barrels and nylon bags, and were buried about three meters underground." 

He suggested that "this money was used by terrorist gangs to finance their terrorist operations as they withdrew to the right side of the Old City." 

He stressed that "the judge of the Nineveh Investigation Court decided to seize the seizures in preparation for handing them over to the Central Bank."
