A new study confirmed that obesity and overweight increase the risk of dementia by 30 percent.
And the scientists considered that there is no need to fear in this regard, because that does not mean that dementia will develop in all obese people.
According to what was published by the "Med Novosti" website, there are now about 50 million people in the world suffering from dementia, and according to the World Health Organization, the number of patients increases every year by 10 million.
A new study published in the International Journal of Epidemiology shows that being overweight and obese increases risk factors for dementia by 30 percent.
In the new study, British scientists conducted their research on 6,582 people aged 50 and over, who were followed for 11 years.
In the study, the researchers used standard criteria for normal weight and obesity based on body mass index (BMI).
Dementia developed in 7 percent of study participants, and people who were overweight (BMI 25 to 29.9) had a 27 percent higher risk of developing this condition, compared to people whose weight was within the normal range (BMI 18.5). -24.9).
Obesity (a body mass index greater than 30) was associated with a 31 percent increased risk of developing dementia. End 25

Information / follow-up.

It has become known and evident that the diet plays a fundamental role in promoting the health of the body and giving it the necessary elements necessary to perform its vital functions, and to build and strengthen immunity in the first place.

All foods that contain nutrients, including vitamins, proteins and minerals, contribute to strengthening and building immunity in the body, according to what was published by the "Only My Health" medical website.

But some wonder if one of these nutrients should be preferred and consumed exclusively in order to build strong immunity for the body, or whether consuming these three nutrients together in a balanced way is the best and most beneficial.

Protein is classified as an essential nutrient that must definitely be included in the diet, because it is used as an element to build and repair tissues, bones, muscles, blood and skin, which greatly contributes to protecting the body as it represents the first line of defense that resists and prevents the entry of foreign bodies.

Moreover, our bodies produce chemicals, enzymes, and hormones using protein.

It is also a vital nutrient, the deficiency of which reflects the inadequate functioning of the immune system, so its inclusion in the diet is undeniable.

As for the need to include vitamins and minerals in the diet, the matter is just as important as the need to include proteins.

Vitamins and minerals are essential micronutrients known to have an ideal role in boosting the immune system, but they also have a critical effect on the immune response in the body.

These nutrients play a series of important roles in the body, from converting food into energy, to cellular repair, boosting the work of enzymes and hormones, and even keeping bones, muscles, heart and brain working properly.

This means that ensuring that adequate, balanced amounts of these three nutrients are consumed through a balanced diet, aids in the optimal functioning of the immune system, and improves the body's ability to cope with infections and diseases.

There is no single food element more important than the other, because each food element has a unique and distinctive role in boosting the immune system. 25 S.
