Surely a really good guitarist....But notoriously totally nuts....He's the main cause for the classic Deep Purple lineup split....He kept fighting with (great) vocalist Ian Gillan.....For apparently no reason other than he ( Blackmore) hated him...Or maybe he was jealous for some reason......They beat up each other more than once.....

Ritchie was/is a humourless perfectionist who thought he was better and smarter then anyone. Anyone who dared question him became an enemy. I'll just take him as a brilliant guitar player and leave it at that.
