Met with President Jalal Talabani at his residence in Baghdad, on Thursday 06/17/2010, a delegation from the Electoral Commission for elections, which included the Head of the UNHCR Faraj al-Haidari and a number of Commissioners.

He said a press release issued by the Presidency of the Republic received (and the Iraqi News Agency Information / conscious) that the president was welcomed during the meeting, the delegation of the Electoral Commission for elections, praised the efforts made by UNHCR to the recent elections as scheduled through the creation of the necessary supplies and the preparation of polling stations.

The President of the Republic that although there are a number of complaints and reservations by the lists participating in the elections, but that the elections went smoothly and the final result was satisfactory to all parties.

From their part, the members of the delegation thanked the Office of the President for their warm welcome and generous hospitality, appraisers support of His Excellency the High Commissioner.

For his part, Commission President Faraj that the international community's assessment of the recent elections in Iraq was positive, pointing to reports issued by bodies and international and regional organizations in this regard including the United Nations and the European Union and the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Conference and others.

During the meeting, a luncheon hosted by President Talabani in honor of the visiting delegation, attended by a number of officials.
