GET REAL!!! LOP is like change the picture on the bill. All a LOP does is change what the piece of paper is called. When you exchange 25,000 dinar bill for a "NEW" 25 dinar bill, Bill being the key word... it is still worth the same amout in exchange. If just a LOP increased the value, all goverments would LOP.

What a LOP will do is cause you to have to exchange your Dinar for a NEW Dinar in a certain amount of time or you will be the owner of funny money, just like the last Iraq currency change did.

Thanks for that link, Tricky ... we all talk about a LOP with little understanding of how it would happen and even the terminology gets confusing ... but, Iran has been considering this .. so to follow them is relevant education.

One important fact that no one has mentioned, why does a country do a LOP? They do it to fight "out of control" inflation and this is why it doesn't make sense for Iraq to do a LOP because their inflation is in single digits and they have little to no debt. Iran and Turkey are two countries that have done LOPs in the last several years and here's an article on why Iran was looking at doing a LOP.

Hello everybody. i am a new member and have been reading everything on here and its all good stuff. i spoke to ali from dinartrade.com and asked him about them dropping the 3 zeros from their currency and he said that some analyst said that would be a great idea but the cbi came out and said that they will not be doing that. he says that they will not be dropping the 3 zeros. if you would like to ask him yourself the number is 310-496-7527 and u can also email him. he answers all of his emails. his email is ali@dinartrade.com. i hope he is not lying and telling the truth but you can definitely speak to him on the phone directly. also he said if they dropped the 3 zeros that it would greatly raise inflation. he said most of the "news" from iraq is not accurate and is meant to mislead. tak it for what its worth. its from a guy who is selling the dinars so who knows. i posted this on 2 other pages a swell. what do you guys think
